Bringing crysis back to Vanilla

Post » Mon Oct 27, 2008 6:04 am

I recently tried out the realifesis mod for crysis. Its pretty and all but I want to remove it to lower my settings to High. I used the uninstall.exe found in the "levels" folder but still, whenever I go to change the settings to "High" I apply, and then it just goes right back to all settings at custom. Is there anything I can do to bring crysis all the way back to vanilla. I really do not wish to delete crysis. I have crysis on steam.

Just because it says "custom", does not mean it is using a graphics setting mod. If you deleted the realifesis mod, then it isn't using it. It usually says custom when it cannot apply what you selected, and it does a sort of "down the middle" kind of road so the game doesn't crash or glitch.

Usually the easiest way to fix this is to exit any game you are currently playing so that the graphic settings you selected can apply easier without threat of a crash causing it to go "custom". If you have a modern day LCD/OLED monitor, disabling Vsinc could also help. :)
