The finals took so long (double full hold...twice) that at 1:30am or so, they decided to delay the final game. At the time, they never agreed to a time, saying "probably sunday"

Thats what i was asking about.

ahhh okay, yeah the full hold stuff isnt really quite as entertaining to me either , i would assume they'd be finishing up this weekend sometime maybe tonight even, either way, when they do continue the tournament i'll try to bump the topic up to let everyone know.

some of the day 1 matches where really good as well since everyones still figuring what tactics work well , worth checking out.

One of the teams said they couldnt make sunday, so that is unlikely.

Personally I would guees tonight as more likely, but they made no mention of it on the stream earlier, so most likely not.

also,I found the full hold stuff entertaining, and more importantly educational.
I enjoyed watching Michael3D as he shares pretty much my playstyle, I love being that thorn in the side just constantly causing grief for the other team, making openings for my team etc.

PS: I really think Brink-tv deserves theyr own stickied topic on the forums, hint hint Sd ;)

I don't like the tournament rules. I mean, I can definitely deal with them and I understand why they were chosen... NO Adrenaline and NO removal of Hacks by Engineer, but I deal with it in game, is it really impossible to deal with in competition?

Well they keep saying adrenaline would be fine if 3 seconds, and as someone who just start lvling a medic I can say theres no way in hell it lasts 5 seconds??
As for the stacking, don't see it as being a major problem considering the cooldown on adrenaline which is actually quite long.

When it comes to the Removal of hacks, I understand why they do it.
They actually had an idea today that I liked very much:

Instead of engineer removing it, it should only be removeable by operative and it should take twice aslong to remove as it takes to actually hack it.

Personally I would also say that its odd that engineer objectives cannot be reversed, and I would like a similar thing to be added for theyr objectives.. other engineers should be able reverse the progress, but that should also take twice as long.

In any case the teams who are competiting didnt have issues with those decissions, so why should we ?

Just a casual commentary. I WISH, OH I WISH, I had a team to participate run with in these types of things.

I think operative destroying or defending/unhacking the objectives would make sense. The slower rate would also be a good balancing tool.

i think these guys are primarily PC players hence the private server and free floating camera , but i'm sure eventually after the lag patch you could see some legit ps3/xbox tournaments....feel free to add me on ps3 guys, maybe if SD implements clan support we could get some tight games going.

MUNX - you're right the tournaments should be a sticky topic, and full hold matches are definetly educational !

also i hope eventually SD can give ps3 players a free-floating spectator camera....

The games are cool, but after watching an hour or more of team with mostly light players using carb9/seahawk combo vs same team setup on Aquarium map, you start clicking through the footage a bit.

I think it's about 3 hours into the footage before you see the first non aquarium map and the first operative enter the battle. I still have yet to see a team utilize a heavy, which pretty much means to me that it solidifies my thoughts that they are not well balanced.

What WAS hilarious to see though, is there is a glitch where a spectator counts as an enemy for sticky grenades. So if a spectator goes near one, he picks it up and it looks like its flying through the map for anyone actually in the game, it will then count down like normal and explode as normal. This sounds pretty lame, and it IS! But... one of the spectators commentating the games attaches the bomb to himself and then kills the guy that planted it to test the glitch. Poor guy, probably confused the heck out of him in a competetive semi finals match no less.

^ I lol'd so hard at that. FLYING STICKY GRENADE OF DOOM!

I've only watched the first night's matches, but since they take HOURS to load on my connection (1 second in SD takes about 4 seconds to load) is the second night any better?

Also recoil/spread must be easier to handle with a mouse or something, because using the Carb-9 on PS3, it's a piece of trash outside CQC. I don't see why everybody touches themselves over it. Nearly the worst accuracy (marginally beaten by the Tampa), but it has the worst recoil because the FIRST BULLET kicks. Most other guns don't kick that bad until 3-5 bullets.

I don't agree with the command posts being turned off. That just lets the defending team stay right next to the objective, they have no reason to go anywhere else. I would also love to see some variations in the body types and weaponry being used.

agreed, i figure the games still pretty new to everyone so i think there still figuring out the best balance for competition rules and the skinny bodytype will continue to be dominant since speed kills more than power right now, but that might be fixed with the latest heavy buffs there releasing.
