Really?

I think this thread is completely unnecessary. It's just like "let's have one thread where we can repost everything from every other thread".

Well, I had heard about this game earlier but got into it just today. It has potential to be groundbreaking game. I like FPS sometimes, mostly at lan partys. But this game has grown on me over the day, finally something objective based, story driven. I loved enemy territory, so this is going to be my favorite game of the year already. I've tried to go back to ET couple of times (objective driven awesoness) failing miserably (can't get in games) but I'm sure this will deliver. So hype up everyone, there's always room for more :P

Yea, it's a bit buggy on newer systems. I can barely play W:ET on my most recent system due to problems with multicores etc.

Not excited enough to be appreciative. They tried so hard to remove spawnkilling which has me a little anti-Brink. At this point Splash Damage just seems to be trying to fix all the other things that weren't broken in other games. Doesn't seem like a very good idea does it?

I suppose if my online shooter strategy and success was built upon spawnkilling, I wouldn't be too excited about it either. I guess you'll just have to get good at something else if you want to play.

This game was born parkour (that's why I love it).

born parkour is a reference to this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVjeheaFfsM from a German band (don't worry it's not Rammstein, which is not to say I don't like Rammstein).

"I was born hardcoe"
"I was born parkour"

Same thing.

This game's gonna be so parkour.

[edit:] btw I meant to ignore the Brink pessimism.

If you compare those who enjoy spawnkilling, with those who don't enjoy spawnkilling or those who don't enjoy getting spawnkilled, the players in the "don't enjoy" category, far outweigh those in the "enjoy." Dealing with spawnkilling, is a very effective way to make the game overall more enjoyable for most people. Not only are you in the minority on this one, you are also upset about the removal/minimization of a feature that makes games less enjoyable for most people.

not to worry, absolute idiots will still get spawn killed, it's just that the off-line challenges will teach you how to do everything before you go online if you want.
