Brink Commercials.

Meh that might have worked for half-life when Gman did it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ll08ktN6Y24 BUt the comercial for Brink should show the full parkouryness of the game.

It definitely should NOT show the full "parkouryness" of the game. The more emphasis tat is put on the SMART system, the more people expect, then you have players ranting and raving because Brink isn't a parkour sim and about how they can't do backflips and this and that, totally misunderstanding the concept of the game and getting mad at nothing.

As big as the SMART system is, it's really quite simple. It will become effortless and second-nature for players, and many of them will think nothing of it.

I can see the Gamestop commercial now...
Members of the Resistance are sitting at a table playing cards, one guy wins the hand and is accused of cheating. He turns out to be a Security Op in disguise, and he has all the Spec Ops gear. It cuts to outside, where we see flashed of light and hear gunfire. The Spec Ops guy walks out with all the poker chips in hand. Then we hear the "Get the exclusive Spec Ops pack when you pre-order Brink at Gamestop. Power to the players."

(Yes, I just made a scenario in which the Security wins... so what)

It will show The Security and The Resistance sitting down and drinking tea with each other in the middle of the shipyard, while a narrator with an English gentleman voice talks about the game. It will then show various short clips of gameplay, while switching back to the tea party after every clip, showing Resistance and Securty members displaying impressive displays of etiquette. Then towards the end, the narrator will say some catch phrase, someone will flip over the table at the tea party, and all hell breaks loose, guns a blazin.

I'd buy a game about Hannah [censored] Montana if they aired a commercial for it like this. Well, maybe not buy, but I'd definitely look into a bit more than I would have (read: not at all) otherwise.

So yea, pretty win idea right there.

Something that could be a reference to what Brink could do

When the commercial opens and shows the tea party, this is the music that would play in the background as the narrator speaks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSE15tLBdso

I only have one question...what will be the song it breaks into when all hell breaks loose?

I'm thinking a custom song, made for the commercial, or something from the actual game.

Oh, and when all hell breaks loose, it will begin to show more gameplay clips back to back, much more visceral and intense. The music will build and the clips will gradually begin to switch between clips faster and faster, until it is eventually like 1 clip per frame. Then the music ends on a dramatic note and resonates out as the screen goes black. Then the Brink logo fades in, followed by the release date.

Oh how bout this for a Gamestop commercial.

There is a guy in the doom pre order pack firing at an enemies(named Doom Guy). A team mate comes around and sees his tattoo (Named New guy).

NG: "Nice tattoo."

DG: "Thanks it allows me to spawn the minions of hell."

NG: "Wow Really?"

DG: "Yeah check it out." Doom guy runs out and metal starts playing "Demons I summon you!"

Comedic Pause

DG: "Huh guess I can't summon them." He then gets hit with a barrage of gun fire

Narrator: Pre-order now and get the doom pack only at game stop.

parkouryness

hate to seem like a dike, but this is not a word, and to those who do parkour it comes off as a bit ignorant/insulting.

I'm still thinking Steam... yesterday was not my day. I even dropped a knife on my :swear: foot, so yeah... unlucky day.

Change it to the winner gets a shirt out of the poker game and leaves wearing it. Thus making everyone jealous.
Make the other one the Steam commercial (like they ever would make a Steam commercial).

I have no problem with it... and I don't recall electing him as my spokesperson.

*cough cough* I think this song would work well for the part where the fighting starts. Don't know which part of the song; just choose your favorite segment I guess. :disguise:

I like it, it has a nice build up just before heck breaks loose it says "let's do this" and then the guy flips the table. Shesh why dont they just let us make a commercial lol, we got the ideas just supply us with the equipment and we would be good.
