We don't allow bumping a thread. It's on the first page so please just be patient until we can figure things out. Have you tried taking a peek on the steam forums?

They could have some hints for you as well. I'm sorry for your delay.

Yes, I have looked and sorry for the bumping... PSN is down. Bought this game just to have something to do and delay my PS3 buying of the game. Just really jumpy right now.

Yeah, this game isn't working at all for me either-- preloading from Steam, downloaded everything, etc, and I'm getting the following:

Error signature:
AppName: brink.exe AppVer: 1.0.22672.46967 ModName: ntdll.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.6055 Offset: 00010ef4

Same problem for me. I'd rather like this resolved, though I do appreciate that that takes time.

Just updated drivers, uninstalled Brink, reinstalled Brink, restarted Steam-- still not working. Same error message as before.

Same problem here.

Toshiba Satellite P305
Windows 7 Pro 64bit
Intel Core 2 Duo T8300 @2.4GHz
4GB RAM
ATi Mobility Radeon HD 3650

Catalyst 11.4, 11.5, 11.5a

It starts up with the slash screen, then the screen turns black as it is starting up, then it crashed before anything else. Looking forward to an update to fix. I'm the only one of my friends who can't join up an play :-(

I purchased the game from steam and I have the exact same issue. If anyone knows a fix please post it up for those of us who can't even get the damn game to start up.

Same here. It doesn't even cite any error before unloading. All Windows reports is "Brink.exe stopped working"
I've updated the ATI CCC, made sure my Directx was updated. I have literally no idea what would help. This is turning out to be a bad impulse buy.

EDIT: I ran the 11.5a hotfix and Brink was able to load. The game still lags, but at least I get to play now. The hotfix has caused some folks to get the BSOD, so use at own risk.

What fixed this for me is updating my video drivers... not something I was completely fond of doing considering it screws with my resolution on my 65 inch TV in a negative manner.

Sadly, that didn't work in my case. I'm hoping for a solid patch in the next few days, else I'm going to have to ask for a refund.

I concur with all of the above.

Quite frustrating if you ask me. Loads of issue on the 1st day of release.

Really want to play this unique game.

As always, CTD upon launching, not even error message.

Tried every possible solutions posted on the forums, none worked, quite disappointed. :(

Really hope a new patch would come out like tomorrow.

I bought this game for myself and two of my kids, 3 very different PC systems, didn't work on any of them. Same error on all 3. "Brink.exe has encountered a problem and must close. " Not at all informative. Tried all the usual suspects. Drivers, reloading, updating. Bupkiss. I was informed that I would not recieve a refund because I opened the package. Just bought 3 coasters for $150.00.

Im having the same problem as well. My config is as follows, and i sure hope it can help:

ASUS Notebook G60Vx Series

Processor: Intel Core2 Duo T9600 2.80GHz

Memory: 4.00 GB

64-bit OS Windows Vista

NVidia GEForce GTX 260M 1 GB

I really hope this is just a launch hiccup and can be smoothed over soon. Otherwise im stuck playing the GoW3 beta and hearing my best friend whine everytime he dies :\
