I use to play a game called APB and it has a really nice create a character and clothing function. The game play however was really rough and horrible but overall it had to be scrapped and reprogrammed back into beta.

Here are some character looks from the game:

they both look cool. it will be great to see such great variety on the battlefield.

it's a shame they are all roughly the same height though. i would like to have seen more variety in height also.

I use to be a huge bounty in APB within some of the servers. Representing the Blood Roses and achieving Key of the City. Then on the off time in that game I would design clothing with textures I have from my art studies to create some classy gear. That and the logo creator with Mirror's Edge flair and some of my Blood Roses textures I achieve with the gang.

Here are some more links before I leave it all behind me. I wish I still had some screen caps of my characters and my involvement with the Blood Roses.
Oh well with Brink I guess I can create a legacy of my own. A man can wish.

Here was the Blood Roses Logo: http://www.apbrwiki.com/w/images/c/cf/300px-Blood-roses-logo.jpg
Always held it up high for any Enforcers that got in my way

Edit: duplicated two of the same links. Sorry.

Difference between your APB images and the images OP has posted:

APB Images are renders and do not represent the ingame graphics.
BRINK images are renders which represent actual ingame graphics.

APB isn't similar to BRINK at all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8WQzqTTwbI.
And so is the customisation. APB has only very few actual clothing items which can be textured a good bit; well, in the original game at least.

It's coming back as F2P now (APB: Reloaded, Open Beta starts May 18th), which requires you to go Premium if you want any proper customisation.

lol, last time i was REALLY looking for a game with immense customisation and it was a shooter. Then APB came out, i was really excited. Now that you speak of apb like some sort of cheap online game where they claim it to be free-to-play but actually need to be a premium member if you want any customisation. Seemed like APB was a [censored] game, eh? Now brink's coming out, i'll be sure to get it :D

PS: I hate games where they claim to be "Free", but the really cool items need to be purchased by cash. :verymad:
