Brink DLC Next month

http://bethblog.com/index.php/2011/05/27/brink-dlc-details-and-stats-site-update/

Today we’ve got some exciting news to share about two big Brink updates in the works.

First up, the statistics site will be going live next Tuesday for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 players. PC players can look forward to it going very soon. This site, located at brinkthegame.com, will be your hub for in-depth stats, including data on matches, players and the overall progress in the weekly Battle for the Ark. Check out the screenshot above for a sneak peek and dig up that VIP code as you’ll need it to register once the stats page is live

On top of that, the Agents of Change DLC is just on the horizon, slated for release in June. The pack will bring new maps, abilities, character customization options and weapon attachments to Brink, while also raising the level cap to 24. Here’s a full list of the DLC content:

New Maps

Founders’ Tower – The revolution finally reaches the island’s iconic spire and takes the battle for the Ark to dizzying heights.
Labs – Venture into the depths of the Ark’s original research and development laboratories, a submerged high-tech facility so far untouched by the civil war.

New Player Abilities

UAV – This stealthy and lethal device allows Operatives to automatically mark nearby enemies on their radar. For more explosive fun, they can even take direct control of the UAV and detonate it near unsuspecting foes.
Napalm Grenade – Soldiers can use this new grenade to cover an area in a sea of deadly flames.
Pyro Mine – Engineers can plant these mines and leave enemies in the epicenter of a massive napalm explosion.
Field Regen Unit – Medics can deploy these units to increase the health regeneration of any nearby teammates.
Tactical Scanner – This universal ability allows players to reveal the active buffs of their opponents, allowing them to pick off enemies more strategically.

New Weapon Attachments

Bayonets – Gain the edge in melee combat and cause extra damage with these deadly blades.
Weapon Shields – Take cover from enemy fire and prevent headshot bonus damage behind riot-style shields.

New Character Outfits

The Sad Punk – Add a touch of Steampunk to your Resistance character.
The Limey – Bring order to the Ark with this outfit inspired by traditional European police.

In addition to these updates, we’re happy to let you know that the updates we described last week will be available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this weekend.

Actually.. These so called "abilities" were planned to be in the original game. (Some players were able to find them, thanks to a glitch)

Guess they ran out of ideas ... Wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the "new" content was also within the original game and then cut for DLC. :glare:

Still, its free.

I'm so f'ing excited! There are definitely times as an op. that the nearest enemy to comms hack is right in the middle of the fight so I'm looking forward to the new op. ability. Hopefully it's awesome.

I am so glad im not the only one who noticed this. I feel like this people are taking us for a ride. It seems like they already had this content by the time they shipped the game cause I was one of the people that saw the skills when i capped. So I feel like instead of including this into the actual game and trully making it worth the $60, they removed it so they could later add it for 'free' so they could look like they were doig it a nice thing for us! im kinda pissed even if its free

Don't care for the new abilities all that much, but more to the point there aren't enough new abilities to really warrant the level cap increase. 4 levels means 4 more abilities, meaning that much easier to fully spec for two classes.

This also. I think they should have just added the skills and not add more skill points. The game was really well balance as it was. Now it might not be so much.

Oh and that Universal skill seems kinda lame although i can only judge it once ive used it.

I already have a character with Op and Med maxed out o.o so it won't matter about the 'easiness' to max the class abilities out :\

Sounds great. The only question I have is how is the soldier going to enable the new napalm grenade. On the wheel - up is objective wheel, left is molotov, right is flash grenade, down is det packs, so where will the napalm go?

Really? I feel more like Splash was planning to charge us for this content, but since there's been so many issues they're offering it for free to cover their arses. But hey, even with it being free, some people are never happy. I bet you still download it. Don't act all righteous like you're gonna pass up free stuff on principle.

Like the Medic, who with the DLC will have six possible active abilities but only three slots on the D-pad, the Soldier will now be required to choose which three active abilities to, well, have active.

Same with the Operative.

And the Engineer.

You'll have to trade one for the napalm, so they'll fit in the wheel.

just put brink in and update was available, seems to fix lag and seems tweaks to weapons have been made. Also if this is free imagine what we would get if we paid *drools*.

Thanks guys, I only a maxed out soldier so far, working on an operative right now. Medic and engineer next. Then a universal character when I have had a chance to play with all abilities. Can't wait for the DLC, looks like fun.
