Post » Mon Mar 14, 2011 9:14 pm

well if you like language you could get bulletstorm

Guess what

I got Bulletstorm :P

But now I don't mean that they should say ''[censored] [censored]diketitting daddyballsvckers'' every sentence, now I just want them to be a wee bit realisitc with a f-word here and there, maybe ''hell'' and ''[censored]'', becuase if you get shot.. What do you say? ''HOT BANANAS'' or ''[censored], I'M HIT'' or ''OH [censored]'' or any of the witty one-lines? :P

Golly Gee Willickers Batman!! :batman:

I'll bring out a good example why ''nice talk'' is weird in combat

Ever played Mass Effect 2 and used Jacob as your companion? This is what he says when he uses his warp attack

''Have a nice trip!'', and ''You mean mothers, huh?!''

Seriously, what the [censored]

And without some language, it can turn out like this in Brink

''THE MEAN MOTHERS ARE TAKING OUR COMMAND POST!'', ''MANY MEAN MOTHERS STRAIGHT AHEAD!''

And those two are bad examples :P they wont be that bad

.. right?

So, you want a game where you character curses to the end of time every time it's hit? Alright.

Yea, Bulletstorm is pretty crazy on their language.

Well they wanted everything over the top. On that note how is it?

I still maintain that any colorful language should be in non english or slang. Get it under the radar.

lol, define "great stuff?"

Blood and Gore?
Language?
six?
Drug and alcohol use?

Could any of those have such an impact on Brink that the absence of them makes the game as a whole a lesser experience?

Also I'm glad it's Teen. When I was gonna pre-order the game, I thought I would just walk in to Gamestop, pre-order, done. I couldn't though, I had to wait for my parent, the dude there said that it looked like it would be rated M, so yeah I waited there for a while. <_<

Now I can just walk in on realease day after school and get it without waiting an hour for my father to get there.

I completely agree, I had the same problem where I live.

They said they were going for a teen rating in an interview from Richard Ham: "We really wanted to give a very intense feel to our firefights, with shot impacts that come across as punchy and powerful. That said, we didn’t want it to be gratuitous – excessive gore doesn’t really fit with the tone of Brink, a world where friends and brothers are reluctantly battling each other for what they see as a better future for all on the Ark.”

Well, if the rating bothers someone they aren't a very open minded gamer. Also, if the rating of Brink is gonna be a problem for anyone just rent it. Luckily this means I won't have to bring my bro, or my parents. I can just go pick it up.

Honestly, does anybody really care about the language? It's not that big of a deal.

Alright, fair point.
I can't help but think informing the guy about that would be somewhat redundant, as if you're on the Ark, you would probably notice a missile hitting the only thing taller than the floor.

It would be pretty funny if the characters did actually use these sort of surrogate swearwords.

I'd have no issue with them yelling HOLY FASTERIXASTERIXKING ADOLLARSIGNDOLLARSIGN CRACKERS!! It'd be cool, like they'd invented their own Arkian language.

Sorry, that's just how I always read stuff like that.

If the Jamaican accent would sound like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UA3HPWrb2_g, cursing would not be an issue for that one.

I could care less about rating, lol.

I have seen good games that are Teen and I have seen good games that are M, aaaaaaand I have seen good games that are rated E. ^_^ I love games like Sly Cooper, Okami, MegaMan/MegaMan X, Uncharted 2, Infamous, Little Big Planet, The Sims 1-3, the Tomb Raider series (before this new future reboot), Jak 1-3, Ratchet and Clank, Lego game series, and a bunch of Nintendo games, etc, and they are not rated M. (Oh, gosh, I loved these games sooooo much! Especially action, action/adventure, platform/adventure games)

I also love M-rated games like Bayonetta, Killzone 2, Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age Origins, Gears of War, and Borderlands.

...Now that I think about it, I usually prefer Teen and E games because they are more cartoony and light-hearted (which is more of my thing), especially if they have cute cartoon characters or furry creatures, but lately I have been getting some M-rated ones, lol. Still, I spend more hours playing the Teen/E games more than the M ones. ^_^

*Gasp* I forgot about Beyond Good and Evil HD remake. I got the Sly Cooper HD collection (I  Sly Cooper) , but I forgot about Good and Evil. (I heard Good and Evil is a really good game.)

Anyway, Brink seems to be a nice mix of seriousness and kind of over-the-top weirdness, so it's more in my general taste area. If it's Teen, it's even better. (M-rated games are good, but with shooters, I hate hearing swear words all of the time---especially Rico from Kilzone 2. I'm all like, "Wash your filthy mouth, Rico! And you, too, you random Helghast! *stabs both of them with a knife* And the over-the-top blood/gore, goodness! I toggle the censor options in Black Ops, Dragon Age Origins and Gears of War, lol.)
