We'll all get an earful from Wraith once the game comes out...lol

Wraith's top 10 Brink flaws:

There is no Wraith archetype.

More coming after I play.

I could go on about how Portal 2 and Mass Effect 2 are nearly perfect, or I could agree with Soup Sensei in that his way would make more sense but just isn't how it actually does happen...

But I'll settle for this. B)

If they combine the best from Mass Effect 1 and 2 then the 3rd installment will be awesome.

If it does have flaws they'll tweak them for the sequel :)

Hopefully they'll jump on anything that seems broken, that's important as well.

I won't mind if Brink is a little deeper and more complex than I'm used to. If I'm having trouble getting used to it (which I doubt) I can just go do the challenges until I get my Brink legs. And I've heard way more positive reviews than I have negative reviews like that one. The phrase "It looks great." gets tossed around a lot. I don't know what magazine you're getting this from, but it could be from back when they were still fine-tuning the PS3 version, which they've said was the hardest to work on.

For a PC-centric game developer, the PS3 version is always the most difficult to work on.

I *do* anticipate completing at least all the first level challenges before attempting multiplayer, to work out some kinks and figure out how to play this game. Additionally, it will enable me to unlock a few do-dads that might prove helpful/useful once I start the campaigns.

What about SD's problems if the game doesn't sell as well as it should? Its a shame if they get shut down like many other good companies(2K makers of the infamous Duke Nukem and The Darkness)

WHOA! 2k games shut down? dude... big blow for me being a almost religious fan of borderlands. Anyway if its liek the tutorial in Vanguish it will be fine. The tutorial in Vanguish is you start, your given a menu of whta you have to do, and then you od them getting tips along the way. They were also playing one of the tutorial mission

Welcome to teh Forums! you already know are mascot (tapir) so kudos which leads to a double welcoming turtle :turtle: :turtle: Enjoy your stay.

Made by Gearbox published by 2k like brink: made by splash damage published by bethesda. And dont get your hopes up on anotehr one newbie you only get tutles for special thing (joining the forum) and when someone agrees with you to the point it is a specail moment. on topic: Brink will have flaws but EVERY game has flaws. it was probably some CoD head playing anyway. As seen in some videos it looks like every teamate is working together with only a couple off to teh side doing their own thing to help the team.

What will make or break Brink for me is the responsiveness of the controls. I'm really enjoying Enslaved, for example, but - like Batman before it - my pet peeve is when the game doesn't "recognise" when you've pressed a button. If I get killed because I did something stupid, I can handle that, but if it's because I pressed X and the game didn't respond when I pressed X, that really, really annoys me.

I would certainly think and hope that - especially in light of that reviewer's comment - the game would have been polished up between then and now and any last-minute handling issues would have been fixed. I don't think they'd just ignore that kind of criticism, so I'm fairly confident the game will play OK.

I'm not sure if this is just me but most melee games have unresponsive controls

Apparently the people who wrote this don't seem to notice the some 160K preorders on the Xbox 360 alone, (I forgot the URL of that particular preorder chart, Brink was 2nd, under Gears of War 3) and there will be plenty more people with the PS3 and PC preorders. And that's only in America. Which is not bad at all considering SD is far from mainstream and their previous games were PC, and the fact that they're based in EU.. So, you really shouldn't worry. However, I did notice the lack of advertising on Steam. It struck me as a bit odd. I'm surprised it didn't get at least a little more light, seeing as it's stuck on the TOP SELLERS tab.

So to those stuck on the fense over the amount of players.. You're covered.

EDIT: http://www.vgchartz.com/preorders.php
Quite funny how it's beating out LA: Noire by quite a bit.

i think if this game gets a meta score of under 85, ill get LA Noire instead. i know FOR SURE LAN wont get under a 90.
homefront got bad reviews but i ignored them.... but it turns out the critics were actually right.

It's true that there hasn't been much advertising .I'm not sure why Bethesda hasn't advertised brink on the telly or in cinemas

Bethesda's worrying about Skyrim. I would be too, but a little Brink love wouldn't hurt. They're just neglecting it at this point.

In fact, when I saw the Get SMART videos it did make me think that SD may be trying to cover the learning curve base, just because it's such a unique game.

Ive seen Brink on review websites, youtube video ads/side ads, and the GameFly commercial has a Brink case. My GameStop just got in posters and empty cases to put on display in store, as well as a DVD.
Besides the large amount of publicity they have gotten at expos, just about the only thing they could do to add to it is put out magazine/commercial ads.

It's strange, though. Nobody I've talked to has heard of the game. Well, one person had, but he had just seen something about it and didn't know what it was.

Splash Damage isn't exactly mainstream. They just don't have the kind of money to dish out massive amounts of propaganda-like advertisemants like EA and Activision can.

Would be a shame if SD had to shut down, they seem to be on thin ice at the moment and if brink doesn't prevail then my fav company is doomed.
