Brink Flaws?

Post » Sun Jun 27, 2010 5:26 pm

Now.
Brink looks like an amazing game but some magazines are being negative about it.Let me show you (Cut from a mag):
"Worryingly, however, for all its good ideas,Brink isn't firing on all cylinders. This month's hands-on session was PS3 code only, and if it's an indicator on how the game is going to run on xbox360, it's neither as smooth nor good looking as the videos suggest.
What's more Brink BOMBARDS you with info from the start, making the first few games a lesson in losing rather then fun"

Another paragraph says that "If Brink doesn't sell well things could get very tricky for SD"
To be honest I'm a bit worried for Brink,What happens if it isn't as good as we thought it would be?And if it doesn't sell well, will SD have to shut down?(Hope not!)
Any ideas,opinions?

----------------------------
I'm not hating on the game,I love it no matter what.I just hope SD doesn't get shut down because of it.

They were playing the missions with the tutorial woman telling them how to play.

We'll just have to wait and see now won't we?

I'm not sure what they're talking about, I'd rather a game that taught me everything at the beginning, then to go through the entire game and learn new abilities which make the game too easy. Plus, what game has the AI have access to everything you do?

How many people honestly think a game is going to look as good and fluid as their trailers? It's like getting mad at your Big Mac because it doesn't look like the poster outside the window.

From what ive seen of most videos, It looks fine to me. Most new games take a few losses to get used to them anyway.
Exspecially shooters because your almost always used to another style of shooter.

Though the death animations seem a little 'blockish' to me.

But who knows in the end. SD could be making their videos from pervious builds of the game.

I think it will come down to the ... 'wait and see'

What about SD's problems if the game doesn't sell as well as it should? Its a shame if they get shut down like many other good companies(2K makers of the infamous Duke Nukem and The Darkness)

Nah bro, there was a video about how you could choose to have the tutorial woman telling you how to press the shoot button - i bet they had that turned on.

I hope this was a previous build or something and none of these criticisms will stand. I don't have a very good monthly income (approximately $0 and 0 cents) and this is $60 of my money already spent on the pre-order ( I know I can cancel it, but I'd rather not have to). I'm one of those people who'll feel reeeeaaally disappointed and stupid if I get something that bombs or I thought it would be marginally better. Please don't let me down Splash Damage, Please. :nope:

I won't mind if Brink is a little deeper and more complex than I'm used to. If I'm having trouble getting used to it (which I doubt) I can just go do the challenges until I get my Brink legs.

And I've heard way more positive reviews than I have negative reviews like that one. The phrase "It looks great." gets tossed around a lot. I don't know what magazine you're getting this from, but it could be from back when they were still fine-tuning the PS3 version, which they've said was the hardest to work on.

Take into consideration: everyone has a different opinion. These two reviewers (or one?) may not of had an enjoyable experience, while another two reviewers may have a very enjoyable one. Of course... You want more positive reviews then negative, so that people who base game purchases on reviews will consider picking up Brink.

Hes like an action hero, he doesn't need to reload, however the no spitting is unforgivable.

I know, but like I said, I don't have very much cash and I'm investing a lot into this, so I just really don't want it to bomb.

I highly doubt it will "bomb". Though... I highly doubt it will receive a 10/10 either, because no game is perfect.

I believe it will get something ranging from 7.5 to 9.5 out of ten.Probably 8/8.5

You my friend are also correct in your thinking, but I wouldn't say no game is perfect. (coughUncharted2cough)

I think this is a good thing. Quite frankly all the previews I've read have been glowing. I don't trust that, there has to be some people who don't like it.

I'm guessing this game will range around the 8 mark and not do quite as well as it should considering the reviews. However it will do well enough to warrant a sequel.
