Brink's game dynamic

Post » Fri Oct 01, 2010 9:05 pm

How do you think this game will work out? What is your major strategy. You can pick multiple if several define you.

Btw, if none of these define you I will add another per your request.

Needless to say, game dynamic is up for discussion.

The four that are most applicable to me are rushing, flanking, mobile cover, and dodging/dealing bullets.

I don't really know, my 2 most played classes in TF2 are sniper and scout, so I enjoy a bit of everything.

well a few of them should be on every persons list. For example:
everyone should vote "Holding the frontlines, doing the objective, flanking, dodging bullets and dealing them back, and setting up defences ( not resitricted to engineer class in that sense) "

Becuase those are, and should be a part of every players mindset.
If you restrict yourself to specific jobs then your going to restrict your frame of mind, if you do that then you will have nothing to counter your opponents moves.

Every player should be thinking: Where are my team mates, whats my objective, How many opponents are alive, where are they"
those are simple awarness questions. communication with your team will make those faster and quicker to answer.

With that in mind the player shouls then move onto: "What Can I do for my team in a positive aspect?" If it means defending a objective you can go about it a few ways, you could try to take a back route and flank your advancing opponents to eliminate a few of them, you could sit beside the objective draw fire and shoot back, you can try getting to a better defence spot to call out opponents, With 8 people running around on the other team it will be easy to lose track of 1 or 2, if you count 6 opponents, Tell your team.

Who knows maybe someody will cheak a flank route and find 2 guys trying to rush them.

anyways, I think that thise Entire list ( aside from dying) should be noted, as both area's of strenth, and area's of weakness to progress with.

While I understand the premise of the thread, instead of needing to put yourself into a box and state what you're generally good at, I think as a player its far more beneficial to play all styles, and apply them when necessary. Adaptability to the situation is key, otherwise you become predictable and only useful in certain scenarios. Doesnt mean, you need to be an objectivewh0re simply because theres a primary objective that needs to be completed, it just means that if you wanted to objectivewh0re an entire map, you could quite easily.

Gah, WHY SO MANY MEDICS. I mean seriously in TF2 there are no medics, but in MAG there are 4 per 8 man squad

The difference XP gain, it's pretty hard to find a Level 60 Medic in MAG, they simply respec. I hope in Brink, they make it so that the Medic is the most overplayed class.

For Me:

Establishing Defenses
Flanking
Front Lines Rushing
Coming Up With A Really Great Strategy

Oh, BTW, I think one should be added on, also because it fits me.

"Yelling at your teammates because they don't do anything."

Well, of course, that won't really apply in Brink because of the objectives listy thinger.

Close range and around corners, Patrolling (area camping), Flanking (behind my enemies), cting as Distraction (Running in circles or Heavy) , Dodging Bullets and Dealing them back, Healing peepz, and Rushing. These are all what I picked because they all deal with my style of close quarter combat and I will be a medic.

In MW2, I am the guy who gets over 75% of my kills with a knife.

I'm a foot soldier. Give me an assault rifle and I will hold the line. Although I do like to try to pin the enemy with explosives as well.

Searching through the posts I found this and thought it would be good to dredge it back up to the fore-front for peoples opinions.

Hey at least I didn't make another one.

BUT DIS WON HAZ A POLL!!!!!!!!! :teehee:

But mine has cool names and the amazing color ORANGE. Just kidding.

I try to play support classes and classes that complete objectives. I dislike being slow so that's why I mostly don't play heavy types or heavy weapons. I prefer an SMG or Assault Rifle, I'll see what's most usefull and adapt my style. My main goal during objective based games like this is to push the enemy back to a certain point and keep them there untill an objective completer completed the objective. I tend to play very agressive, I carelessly rush in and out, trying to do as much damage as possible to push them back, or to let my allies finish them. I prefer staying alive, without killing the enemy than killing him and get killed myself.

I'm pretty good all around player (If I say so myself) and I really like to move as a team with 2 or 3 guys backing eachother up and then try to go for the objective.

I think SMART (and the cluttered level design it allows) is going to make doging bullets by using cover extremely prevalent in Brink, even if you go heavy.

Flanking will be massive because with the small team size, you're less likely to run into enemies while taking flanking routes.

I tend to fall on the medic role but still like to rake up the kills... but mostly try to play the class that is needed most.... which is what everyone should do :D

I like to use heavy support fire to stop flanking, so i will be a bullet sponge giveing cover fire and acting as a distraction for my peeps :)
