Brink gameplay from PAX

Nice shot of a long rifle in here, I haven't seen any real footage of them yet.

There are short rifles, not long rifles. ;)

But I think in that video you can only see an Assault Rifle with a Snoop-R Scope.

lol, yeah i ment short. Been up for awhile, not really working at 100% at the moment.
And i assumed by the crazy looking sniper scope that it was a short rifle, I don't know very much about what specific guns look like.

Wasn't that the M14 and Vector based guns in that video?

You are correct.

Interesting to see a SMG with a hunting-scope, really.

I'd say... as far as I know it has terrible range. Seems totally pointless to add an attachment that utilizes a weapon's stats for ranged combat...

Remember, in games a scope can magically improve the effective and overall range of a weapon. If there really is near to no recoil in BRINK, that combination could work quite well.

The only problem is how much damage the weapon will end up dealing. The Kross was probably one of the least powerful guns in BRINK, and I think that still holds today.

But an attachment that upgrades "terrible" range to "sub-par" range, for a weapon primed for decent range use by the attachment's zoom, still seems misuse of a slot.

Yeah, one would not do that, so it goes out through the word of mouth.. But we wanted to see moving things :(

I hope Splash releases something for us after PAX..

SD isn't handling that stuff any more. Bethesda is. And when you look at the footage that did get out, people were overwhelmed by Brink. It is not a game that you can learn in five minutes and be "pwning noobs" in 10. You have a lot of different stuff in Brink-- SMART, the fast pace of things, things are different.

Installing a Snoop-R on a Kross won't really improve its bullet range, it just increases zoom by a substantial amount. But you're right: it's a bad idea to use a sight as big as a Snoop-R when the gun is meant for close-quarters situations.

My statement was based off REVOLUZZER's post that scopes will buff range... seems a logical stat change to occur, but not on an SMG. As I said, I'm guessing the scope is suited for medium-range, where the buff it would provide to the Kross' stat probably wouldn't boost it's effectiveness beyond close-range anyway.

Wow, the hip-fire spread on the MP9 is insane!

"Are you taking a picture there?"

Still going through these videos, but it's great to see more of the game in action. Pretty much eliminated my sprint sway fears - it appears the gun gets thrown around a bit, but camera-wise it's not like you've soiled yourself and are wrestling to stop it sliding down your pants.

Thanks for posting!
