Is Brink going to be competitive game?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 8:37 pm

Hello guys, i am very curious is brink going to be only pub game, or it will be suited also for tournaments? I played Team fortress 2 in few leagues before, and it's very exciting game there (on pubs it's [censored]). Me and a lot of my friends are going to buy brink if there will be competitive mode. Looking forward to your opinions =)

Highly. This game is designed around multi-player and co-op.

If the game is designed around multi-player that doesn't means is suitable for leagues :>

Uhmm usually it does. Halo and CoD for example. Those games focus much more on multiplayer then anything else and MLG has competitive tournaments in both.

Games can be multiplayer focused and designed to cater to pub casual players rather than hardcoe competitive, ala say TF2 and Halo. Looking at Splash Damage's history obviously it is going to have a competitive focus, whether or not it becomes popular is another question.

.. woo ._.

Wait, Australia won against Sweden in the losing brackets? :P

Meaning Sweden is still up against Germany in the finals?

WOO - or something like it :P

EDIT: Okay, I don't understand how their ladder works, did Australia beat Sweden out of it, kinda leaving the UK against Australia for the finals?

Double Elimination Tournament or along those lines. 2 Losses and you are out. ( That would be Sweden )
So winner of Spain Vs Australia goes on to face off against Belgium/Netherlands. Winners of that goes to face off against UK in the finals.

There doesn't seem to be much dedicated clan support, but I can definitely see a competitive scene stirring up for the game.

should be good competitively. stopwatch mode is perfect for it. if your looking to play over gamebattles they dont have a ladder up yet. so you can go over to the site suggestions in their forums and vote to get the ladder up. I would give you a link but a moderator would prolly censor it

Gb is more consoles
its not like they dont have PC games its just PC gamers go elsewhere and probably have better sites to get their fix. For consoles Gb is probably the main fix

My concern would always be "if its fun."One of the reasons I went back and played ET:QW,TF2 and all that was because it was intense and a fun game at the same time.Competitive can come second

i sure hope so after all, after you beat all the missions and the single player and all that good stuff, the only thing left for you to do is compete in it. So i hope it will be competitive
