Brink Playable at PAX East Next Week : Othor Games

The Penny Arcade Expo's easterly cousin PAX East gets underway next week in Boston, and we'll be there with a playable version of Brink in tow. Attendees will get to play a new level, Security Tower, which sees desperate Resistance fighters attempting to break one of their own out of the Security's main headquarters on the Ark. It's a ton of fun to play and we think you'll like it.

PAX East kicks off next Friday and runs through Sunday, March 13, and takes place at the Moscone Center in Boston. For more information, hit the PAX website. We'll have more details to share next week!

If you're headed to PAX East this week, we've got a very special surprise for you. In addition to Brink being playable at the show, we'll also be having a separate Brink community event for the game on Friday night from 8 PM - 11 PM. Brink will be taking over Boston's Black Falcon Terminal and do some extensive redecorating there involving several full-blown multiplayer setups and a general coat of what can only be described as Concentrated Awesome.

You'll also be getting a full dose of Splash Damage out there, with Media Director Richard 'Fluffy_gIMp' Jolly, Art Director Olivier 'Nosebone' Leonardi, Lead Writer Ed 'BongoBoy' Stern, God of IT Ben 'Randles' Hopkinson, and myself on hand for a match or three, as well as the odd chat.

On top of all that, there'll be some very special giveaways for you to get your hands on, so really, you don't want to be missing out on this if you're anywhere near the state of Massachusetts at the time. Space is limited, so we strongly recommend you get there early to make sure you make it in.

I'm jealous of people in Boston, really wish I could come play. If anybody goes, please try to get an interview with somebody there or tell us about any changes you see, or just overall experience.

AFAIK, there was no playable demo at GDC, it was aconference not a trade show, all those reviews were from a press event sponsored by Bethesda in LA

the PAX demo will probably be the same as the press event, and it will be playable on 2 maps

I want either gameplay footage (that is a bit new, please) or, at the very least, new info. =)

I would not even mind if there's more info about character customization and the storyline, etc. ^_^

EDIT: The good thing about this is it allows Brink to be in the game spotlight again.

I just want to see more gameplay, and anything they changed or added. I don't want to hear anything regarding storyline, I prefer storyline being new.

The level is not Container City, it's Security Tower, which sounds like it's in one of the Founders' Towers.

I'd love to see new footage of gameplay, but I'll be especially happy if I see more customization.

I wanna see a free online character creator for Brink so that we can play with the character customizer before the game come's out. A little more info on perks would be nice too

The only gaming-related event in the entirety of New Zealand is Armageddon expo which happens once a year (late October my neck of the woods). Kept an eye out for anything remotely Brink-related last expo (hopeful, I know), and Brink will have long since been released by the time the next one rolls around. Even then, what are the chances that Splash Damage would jump on down here for anything.

They did showcase it on GDC though, didn't they?

Anyway, I was trying to say the same you basicly said in your second line. It will be the same like we've already had covered in a playsession.
