Brink Publicity

I always thought the point of those was just to point out what was wrong with a game...I've never thought of them as real reviews as much as comedy pieces.

lulz at myself.

Turns out that most developers actually like him, for various reasons.

But I personally would rather know whats wrong with a game when I'm going through reviews. Hearing about all the stuff thats awesome is something that you are going to hear anyway.

if you want to take a look at yahtzee's work, here's my favorite

I watched the F:NV review and knew I was going to like this guy.

The "Where's Wally Book" part made me crack up, as did "being stalked by Google maps" - I will definitely be adding the site to my list.

Like I said I would rather the reviews speak for themselfs when the game releases, and Brink saves the millions on air time around the globe for developing more content. Most gamers subscribe to a magazine, at the least read a web page, and if Brink can really do what I've seen and read, its going to get 5/5, 10/10, Editors choice picks across the board. That will bring the sales, and save lots of $$.

I boo all of my CoD friends, and fans out there. I cannot support a game that has a yearly target release date, and 2-3 "map packs", betweem each release. To me that shows a money leech, not gamers making games. People keep buying it though, so they keep pumping that crap out. They have the #1 and #2 entertainment(movies, video games, anything) release of all time, and still refuses to budge from a yearly release date to do something really innovative. Its just more of the same, little different format. I highly doubt they have started with fresh programming since MW1, if not before that(each game has had the same glitches on release, you notice that?).

Get one of the many COD games, then be happy with it for a few years. I just got Black Ops, and won't buy another. Unless Yahtzee says it's the best game ever.

I actually liked seeing a good comment in ZP. I want more of them, but not a lot. Just an honestly good thing to mention. I agreed wholeheartedly with the Portal thing.

Yea, I've seen that Bad Company one a couple of times...

I liked his Oblivion one..."they don't tell you what you're in prison for at the beginning, so I imagine I was caught having six with the king's wife while playing a guitar on the dead body of Jesus."

I cracked up good at that one.

I personally am planning to do some commentary-stuff on BRINK gameplay. That is, if I get into that whole commentary thing sooner or later. After all, people will decide if they like average gameplay, or only hunger for super-duper KDRs.

Well, If I find the right equipment, I will probably do the same. If I don't find anything, I'll enjoy watching your commentaries ;)

Haha, that's just the part I'm still working on.

Of course I could just fraps the game, but that means I had to play on very low fps and graphics.
So currently I'm thinking about either getting a http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/ or a http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/site/products/data_hdpvr.html and use them with a HDMI-Splitter. But I'm still figuring out if these had to write on a HDD inside my PC, which, again, can result in a drop of fps, I guess.

It's a pain in the [censored] this game won't have a cinema/theatre mode like Uncharted 2 or the recent CoD Black Ops. Because these make things sooo much easier.

As long as they didn't make the same mistake that APB did, I see Brink becoming major.

I saw an advert for Brink at the cinema today, it looks AMAZING on the big screen, I practically had an eye-gasm, it was kind of a mashup of the teasers and and the cinematic, showing off its art style, plot and parkour mainly.

Sick of over hyped games. Look at minecrap I can't imagine how much that game made with no real marketing and 8 bit graphics look just amazing.

I think that they have a good mix now. Previews, gameplays, and ads. Oh the ads. I cant read a gaming magazine without seeing the Anger 4 times...

I think online videos, website ads (on the sides of other websites), trailers, and word of mouth are good publicity.

I don't think TV would work unless it's like Call of Duty or Halo or something. It would have to be on G4TV or something since it is more of a niche game, ya know?

Oooooh, I just saw Brink as one of the Top 10 games that Entertainment Weekly is anticipating for!

A thirty second teaser spot on TV might benefit. Somehting with a voice over intro followed by a mix of game play footage, and then ending with the Brink Revolution Begins May 17th screen.

This is the kind of game that's going to sell itself by making people curious, not neccesarily bombarding them with info though. Sure we would love to have more info because we're already interested, but there's so much going on in the game that's going to be new to certain gamers that you want them to get hooked first and then they come here and learn more.

Ooh, that's a good idea. ^_^
The cinematic trailer was what got me curious about Brink in the first place, so a "hook" TV spot/teaser would be good, too. :)

This. but Splash Damage was got to make sure they show actualy gameply footage of Character customization, Weapon customization, SMART, and Mingleplayer.

Brink fights to seperate itself from the norms that mainstream FPSes have created. If anything, the teaser should show that Brink strives to be different.

I passed by a Play 'N' Trade today (not sure if it's outside CA), and they had a giant poster of BRINK's cover art.

Heck. Yes.

The advertising campaign isn't as big as we'd hope it to be, but the word is slowly getting out.

Some of you might remember I am a great, great fan of the original http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvY06DIcSrY.

So I just quickly put scenes from the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oess32oDHbI together to create an exemplary http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XF7P9L5DkvM.
