BRINK shenanigans?

So another thread gave me this idea..

Who else thinks it'd be interesting to get a group of people in a Free Play lobby, have no set time limit (if you're allowed to do that in Free Play..I assume you are) and record some experiments. The one in the particular thread I'm thinking of was seeing if you can hop over a slide tackle but I'm sure some people could think of a good few other ideas.

For example: What happens if a Light jumps ontop of a Heavy. In TF2 a scout jumping on a heavy acted as a platform..

Any ideas?

I know myself and some friends will be exploring the maps in free play and testing strategies to prepare for multiplayer games. I am sure testing physics will be part of that.

Not certain. I've seen it described as "A match with custom settings" so I know you can choose map, players and what not but I'm not sure about time limit and stuff. I really hope so. It'd be pretty cool if it was free roam so you could get to know the maps and stuff better if you wanted..Or for making some BRINK-based videos.

Edit: Krytt did you just change your picture? I coulda swore it was the Resistance "R" when I started typing this..

You can create games with custom settings. How customized those settings are, we don't know yet, but we have good reason to believe 'bots can be toggled off and timers can be extended if not eliminated, essentially creating the free roam experience.

Yea, I had changed it. When I think about whether to be Resistance or Security I really can't decide. Same goes for class. I just start to think and I can't make up my mind. I'll change it to whatever I randomly choose once Brink is released.

That reminded me of Team Fortress 2 - If two arrows collided, they'd snap right then and there.
If an arrow hit a rocket, the rocket exploded and the arrow snapped.

We should test GL versus GL.

if they give a development kit i can already think of a mini-game football, their is a football field and a football in the middle of the map, the only attacks anyone can use is melee, but it will only knock people down and do no damage, the Football field and object require Development kit, but other stuff just requires server settings

I would love to see two Operatives battle each other with two Engineer turrets

I would also like to see someone slide, or gunbutt an enemy and while he's in mid-air, get shot in the head by a sniper

I also want to see a light slide into a sticky bomb and accidentally parkour to his teammates to buff them and they both assplode.

I would like to see someone get stuck, get knocked back by a mine and land by a bunch of teammates then the sticky goes off and knocks his teammates down. Like bowling pins.

Ideally: They'd explode in mid-air, and you'd catch on fire if you were involved in the blast.
Really: I think the idTech 4 engine should be able to handle doing that; if not then both parties are set on fire and those are quite good odds.

Ideally: The sticky will latch on to the GL shot. Even more ideally, the launched grenade may be knocked off balance/slowed down/detonated in mid-air? If not, the Operative will find themselves knocked down with their own sticky latched to their leg, and if not defused will lead to a suicide.
Really: If projectile collisions do not occur, someone gets knocked down, someone has a death timer on their self. The latter will lose.

We should test GL versus GL.

Ideally: Double the size of a normal GL explosion.
Really: If projectile collisions don't happen, then both guys are knocked down with considerable damage.

More importantly, though, can Heavies surf on a sliding light for a speed boost?

Ideally: The Light is ground to a halt and the Heavy gets launched off. For more insult to injury (although this wouldn't be a good idea), the Light may take damage.
Really: Not sure how interactions between characters are handled. Hopefully it doesn't work.

I was wondering if a light could wallhop between two walls several times to get to higher areas AND if a light could do that to escape a mine blast if they've accidentally stepped on one. Can you imagine wallhopping up two walls with a mine explosion right under you? Sweetness. B)
