Brink Steam Update 5/23/2011

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 1:13 pm

Just got an update through Steam.

No news on what it did though, but I'm assuming it was this update:

Bethblog had the details on this late last week, and it looks promising for the PC version of Brink, with fixes to the server browser, the dedicated server, and some minor bugs. The weirdo sound bug on certain maps has been fixed, and also: “Graphical performance has been improved, especially when using Ambient Occlusion. We’ve worked closely with both AMD and NVIDIA, and you should see performance and stability improvements in future driver revisions from both parties.” No exact date yet, but it should be this week. I’ll make sure I schedule games on the servers when it’s all updated so we can take a look at the improvements.

EDIT: After playing for just a few minutes, seems that the game is running a bit smoother, server browser seems to be a bit different, only 80 or so servers were showing, as opposed to the usually over 600. Not sure if they auto hide empty/full servers or not. Didn't really care to find out.

Because this kind of infomation is irrelevent and we should save this space for the important issues concerning the game.

Be sure that all your threads have to the moment relevance to issues and concerns dealing with Brink.

Oh? You don't have all day to read threads and thought maybe someone would like to know that a update was released? For shame.

The forum police have arrived!

If you didn`t realize that my post was some kind of ironic because there is no sticky about this, what should be done if people would know what`s needed. The reason why i linked the post is because there is absolut no information in this forums.

I am greatly looking forward to getting off work and testing this out.

Any idea if the OpenGL crash was one of the bugs fixed? I know I can just lower my resolution, but it looks so good at my monitors max rez :P

Why did they mess with the chat font size? I thought it was fine the way it was.

...I hope it can be changed with a cvar :(

I like the new size, it was way too small earlier. But yea, I think it should be up to the user to decide the size.
