Why would you pay that much for that when it doesnt come with anything extra that anyone can get for pre-ordering the game from somewhere else for the same price. Only thing special is a steal case which isnt a big deal. Now if they had commentary with devs about abilities what didnt make it and ideas they wish did I would def pay that much

That's NZ$129.99

It's a NORMAL price for a PS3 or XBox 360 game here.

I'm getting my Spec Ops pack with Pre-Order from http://www.livewiregames.co.nz/shopping/index.php, because they're an awesome store, and I like the Spec Ops pack better.

And I'm getting the game cheaper, too. They'll be taking online pre-orders soon, but for now it's only in-store.

Everything... Really?

You know when Crysis came out, the system requirements were higher than anything you could get in stores here, right? (including custom builds)

Our PCs are roughly 3 - 6 months behind the rest of the world. We get everything late, and we more often than not get shafted by chain stores that ship via Australia, and only deliver a partial special edition here, while the Australians get the full (but still less than US) set of bonuses for the region.

Original Assassin's Creed was a great example. pre-order collector's edition for EU and NA had a full-sized Altair figurine. Australia got a metal box with a comic, soundtrack, artbook, DVD and a smaller figure. NZ got the metal box, DVD, comic, and nothing else. They made up for it with AC2 and Brotherhood though.

Which regular edition might that be?

Steelbook PC
Steelbook PS3
Steelbook XBox 360

No other options exist according to EBGames. Helpful, aren't they?

(And like I said, those are NORMAL prices here. I've seen new PS3 games selling for $139.99 for the regular edition)

I live in Aus - EB Price tag on Brink is like $88, I will try my best to pre-order from Amazon which is like $47 not including on the day of release delivery so overall maybe $60.

According to google:
1 New Zealand dollar = 0.7896 US dollars so $129.99 NZ= $102.64 US

Good lord, you guys must be dedicated players. Thought we were getting bent over the proverbial barrel paying $60 for console games here.

I used to complain about how much money it costs for games these days.

I'm never doing that ever again.

At least Skippy knows how to run the bloody broadband service properly.
For alot of last year, Telecoms new "XT" network crashed and burnt, leaving us with no way to work our broadband properly
and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwhXRxGlOcQ was the "apology" we got.

Our hamster's name is "Lazy." Guess why?

But at least some of our tech support people know what they're doing. So it could be worse.

EDIT: And the Wraithing post above mine reminds me... When XT went down it took our emergency services phone number offline for almost 12 hours - their official answer "But it was a low-volume period, so it's okay" - and the most recent crash with one of their networks took out air traffic control...

Wow...ok no wonder you are so ticked! Basically the apology was "Oh well..."

LOL. Ok, you guys have been royally screwed over, sorry about that. For us, we've only recently really got the speeds we need to play online. So Skippy is new and sprightly. And every time we see him trot in with our bundles of data, we love him. We haven't been left in the dark like you guys were...yet!

That steelbook edition looks lame...

Oh and your hamsters depend on when they were installed. The US tends to have slower internet because they got internet quicker earlier. Hence why its mostly on copper cables not fibre optics etc. Its cheaper to run with what you have than to rip it all out and restart.
