Brink 2

I would think it's too early to ask this, but, is the campaign at the end of Brink like the end of the series or are you secretly planning to make a Brink 2 if this one is successful? Or is this too early to ask :DD

It's a worthwhile question, if Brink is successful Splash Damage could choose to follow it up with a spiritual sequel rather than a direct one. The Brink setting certainly looks cool to me but having not actually played the game I'm not sure if I'd prefer Brink 2 or a fresh setting.

I hope Splash Damage will create something new after BRINK, instead of a direct sequel.

This. As long as SD keeps making games in the same style. Still OP we should all play Brink first before claimoring for a second.

I can foresee it, no problem.

Brink is undoubtedly gonna be a dark horse. Splash Damage will hear all of our praises after we get a good month or two of it to base solid judgment on. At which point, Splash Damage would seriously consider some manner of follow-up game. I can't tell now whether it'll be a continuation or another game altogether, but I think that the Brink community will have no trouble convincing Splamage that a sequel could be a very good idea.

Not so much as a sequel cause by the sounds of it Brink has an ending (i could be wrong) But more of a relocation of scenery. So in other words Brink is based on the floating island. Why not base the next one on mainland so we get to see the struggle People are having there and instead of calling it Brink2 it could somewhat like a chapter setup. Can’t think of a name right now but the idea is that you never left the time line so the civil war on the ark is happening the same time the war on mainland.

It of course needs to be seen still. However, say yes (apparently shout it in fact... "Yes!"), because there are just small things that Splash Damage has made very clear there won't be that I badly want. Split screen, LAN, female characters, etc. I think it's fair that this game doesn't have them (after all, they need to fit in a mountain of groundbreaking content), but I would love to either some heavy duty patches/mods that would give me this, or a Brink 2 entirely.

If Brink 2 came around, I'd like to see the same story line approached from a new way. For example, it would be really cool to stage it somewhere right before, or perhaps during, the apocalypse that is driving everyone to the Ark in the first place. The game could culminate in you arriving by boat, or something like that.

I believe a spiritual successor would be better and more likely than a direct sequel. Although, I wouldn't mind something like "40 years after the events of Brink, land has been found, and now several competing factions are waging war for control of the land and its resources."

I'm going to agree with the mod here. We don't even know how good Brink actually is.

Yup, I'll just quote them for now.

Because my stance on this is really, "We'll see."

If they do make a second Brink I hope they don't do it too soon. Too many games are releasing sequels a year or two later, and those sequels turn out half-assed and too similar to the previous game. The longer it takes developers to make a game, the more people become anxious for a game, then the happier and more hyped up they become when they get the game. How do I know this? CoD games get released year after year and they are getting worse. MW2 was unbalanced and pissed people off, CoD BO has always gets bad connections and some people were disappointed in the game and now, you will need to pay to play MW3(to be released this year). With Brink SD has given us a date, and pulled back, and given us another date, and pulled back, so they can balance the game and make it worth waiting for. Hopefully, if they do make Brink 2 they do the same thing
