Brink Weapon Derivitives

Point is that a revolver is already a sub-class of pistols.

Just to give some example, imagine Modern Warfare 2:

For assault-rifles, you have the M4A1. For Pistols the Beretta M9. Both are extremely accurate with a mediocre fire rate.
For assault-rifles, you have the F2000. For Pistols the USP45. Both have a very high rate of fire but aren't that accurate.
For assault-rifles, you have the FAL. For Pistols the .44 Magnum. Both have extremely high damage outputs and good accuracy, but can't be fired as fast as full-autos.
For assault-rifles, you have the SCAR-H. For Pistols the Desert Eagle. Both aren't very accurate, but have a high fire rate and good damage output.

" (?) "[/url] - http://world.guns.ru/assault/usa/m4-m4a1-e.html (http://www.vltor.com/handguards_and_rails_pics.htm#BE4), made by Colt

I believe it is a modified M4A1 as this post describes. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/bf/SAJ_M4_rifle.JPG - I compared sizes, and they look quite similar. The Stock on the M4 is just the basic model, I am pretty sure the Canadian version of the M4 has the stock of the Unknown weapon.

The picture you have is of a basic M4 with a sight attached. But i would tend to agree with you that the M4 is the gun this rifle is based off of, but i still think the VLTOR front barrel guard is the closest thing to the gun in game.

Pistols (Light Secondary)

?"Kolt" - (?) m1911 variant of some sort, original design by Browning for Colt Arms

?" (?) " - Bul Cherokee, made by Bul Ltd

?" (?) " - VBR-Belgium, made by Van Bruaene Rik

?"Sea Eagle" - Sigma (?) , made by Smith & Wesson

?" (?) " - PPC, made by Dan Wesson

I found a gun that looks ALOT like the unknown pistol that isn't crossed out http://world.guns.ru/userfiles/images/handguns/russia/hg50/1287755175.jpg Except for the rear ring-guard and the modified grip there basically the same, even the IS look the same

I also think the Bul Cherokee is much closer to the in-game pistol than the one you linked to is.

The M4 VLTOR barrel looks like a squarish barrel, the Brink "M4" has a large barrel reminscent of a 552 Commando assault rifle from Rainboe Six vegas - http://www.getairsoft.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/c/g/cg28902-sig552commando.jpg I realize that is an airsoft version, but looks exactly like it does in-game.

you are talking about the hand guard, not the barrel, it is a VLTOR-esque railed forend that allows attachments, though i don't understand why they are going with a 9" BBL instead of 14.5-16" BBL.

if the sights on the gun based on the VBR-Belgium are http://www.fsdip.com/website/Portals/0/PDW%20Sidearm/PDW3dot1.JPG, then I'm using that.

Few minor changes

Removed the question mark from the ChainSAW, after a second look its pretty dead on. Only real differences are smaller holes in the barrel shroud, and SD moved the front grip to the bottom to make room for top rail attachments.

Changed "Short Rifles" to "Long Rifles", since that's what they are apparently being called now according to this article http://www.next-gen.biz/features/balancing-on-the-brink

Also, kudos to to folks over at the brink wiki for finding the roots of some of the names. Maximus appears to be named after the Maxim Machine Gun, and the Hjammerdiem from the Pancor Jackhammer shotgun along with the song "hammer time". I am actually a fan of the Jackhammer, very cool looking, not sure why i didnt think of it myself.

So as it is, there are 4 completely missing names, and I still have no idea what the Rhett AR is named after.

Good work with this stuff. The list looks pretty small for a complete list, but then you go through the whole lot and take into consideration customization and it seems a whole load bigger...

In-game... not sure how legal, if at all, it would be to own one in New Zealand.

I <3'd my M14 in MAG... it was my baby. My deadly, deadly baby.

That's how I was with my shotgun in the first Mass Effect. When I got it back in ME2 the first words out of my mouth were "Shh... It's okay baby, it's okay..... Daddy's BACK!"

Apparently there are 24 weapons...Sounds alright. I could have sworn there was another revolver besides the Caesar. They showed it in 3rd person in one gameplay trailer and the gimp suit Operative in the cinematic trailer had one.

Yeah, we don't really know much about that one either. The one video that does have its name shakes too much, and the guy glancing over the guns moves too fast.

There is another revolver, but no one knows what its named. It appears to be based off of the Dan Wesson PPC revolver though, link in the OP.

That was in discussion but it is still not known why it is called the Rhett as the connection with Gone with the wind and Sig Sauer is not known.

Well, there certainly are a lot of parallels between Gone with the Wind and Brink.

Revolution, slavery, betrayal, struggle.

The book even has two authorized sequels with conflicting stories and an unofficial one that tells the story from the perspective of the slaves,as well as showing how far Scarlet will go to protect her family and home. (Paraphrased from wiki)

But I can't find anything more direct.

those are possible reasons a weapon could be named that, however what is the connection with Sig Sauer?

Gone With The Wind takes place in Georgia. SIG Sauer made its first American plant in Virginia before it finally settled down in New Hampshire.

The only correlation I see with these two pieces of info is that both are in the East Coast.

SIG firearms was a branc of SIG packaging. Rhett might have something to do with the packaging side. The name Rhett also means speaker.
The Mossberg looks more like this shotgun to me http://www.gunreports.com/news/long_guns/Mossberg-590A1-Tactical-Shotguns_1030-1.html

Well if they go with "speaker" it could be correlating with the fact that for a long time the SIG 550 was called "the best rifle in 5.56" and the 551 is a compact SIG 550.

The mossington (mixture of Mossberg and Remington are the leading shotgun makers) the weapon is a semi auto 12g that is influenced by the Benelli M4 the Mossberg 590A1 is a pump action shotgun.
