You can't return videogames once opened, only exchange them for the same thing.

Then I'd actually consider playing a Light.

Edit: Hell, I'd consider using it with anything...

I want to be able to load up all my weapons from New Vegas into BRINK.
What? You say it's unbalanced, I say it's creative

EDIT: Actually, at first that was sarcastic, but how about having small, really cheap DLC packs of weapon skins that look like guns from other Bethesda games?

Like the ability to make the auto-nade-launcher look like the Incinerator from Fallout, or the minigun to look like the BFG9000 from DOOM, or something cool from Quake.
The Bethesda weapon skin pack?

Oh, and clothes from other Bethesda games, too. Power armour? Rebreather? Naughty Nightwear? Hell yeah.

What do you guys think?

Remember, gear is based on Archetype, so choose wisely. :)

Edit: Well a lot of it is, there will be a bit of gear that everyone can wear as well.

like facegear

and tatoos etc

But overall look is based on Archetype and Body Size.

- SDK in first patch
- Brink:TV in first patch
- full customization of features for servers
- competitive support out of the box (and not 5 months late like in Quake Wars)

Archetypes are not locked sets - they are simply there to act as starting points for players, or for players to quickly form a matching set. Every part of your character, whether it be jackets, facegear, pants, shirts, etc. can be chosen individually, regardless of what archetype they belong to, and every customization option is "one size fits all." -- there are no customization options that only certain body types can have.

Also, once you apply and accept a tattoo, it is permanent, just like in real life.

I am simply going to play on PS3, PC, and Xbox360- all three. I will find out which one is most fun for me-based on controls, processing power, and groups I can play regularly with based on my schedule- and then play mostly on the one that works best for me. Also, I really wanted to support the developers, because I really like most of what they are suggesting for this game. (but not the idea of weapons being unlocked through challenges- it should be possible to unlock weapons slow and steady, such as through xp, but challenges are strictly pass/fail.)

Moreover, it isn't really expensive if you stop and consider how long Brink is taking to be released. It has been delayed a large amount of time by now, roughly a year. This extra time has allowed me to pre order extra copies. And I have no interest in selling my other copies. I want to be able to play Brink on any system I want, whenever I feel like it.

Edit: Simply Put: I would rather give a lot of money to developers who are doing a very good job, and making my dream game a reality, then give money to a lot of developers who are screwing up many aspects of their game design. I want Splash Damage to make a lot of money, so I am giving them a lot of money. Also, I am not really bothered by the delay in release date, since I am far more concerned with quality than convenience.

Yeah I reread my post and realized what I said made no sense.
But what you said helped me a bit, I was confused it seems.

So in fact, Archetypes have no real purpose other than aesthetics.

Coool. :celebration:

Wishlist item #1 - I hope that SD sticks to their roots and their initial vision of the game, and doesn't cave under the pressure of the current gaming generation by adding DM, TDM, CTF or any other "generic" gamemode. SD is about class-based, team objective gameplay, and watering down Brink with such lowest common denominator gamemodes, would take away from it.

Wishlist item #2 - Quick, responsive post-launch support. If there are issues within the game that need patching, get on them and fix them pronto. For a good example of how NOT to handle support, look at Infinity Ward and DICE.

This is the wishlist for unreasonable wishes. Post-launch support for bugs, exploits and glitches is totally reasonable. Which makes it all the more sad how rare it is. I find it amazing that the ghoul ecology perk DLC bug for Fallout 3: Point Lookout still hasn't been patched on consoles. It is a ridiculously powerful bug. It is only patched on the P.C. because the fan community released a patch for it.

A list with the most important things to have in my perspective.

No lag.
No hackers.
No DCs.
No glitches (mwah maybe its fun to explore them but they need to be useless)
All the weapons good on there own way.
None over used classes.

Not necessarily. I'd imagine you would unlock separate parts from different archetypes, in no particular order, rather than an entire archetype at once.

If these Archetypes really represent characters from the story, it would make sense to get them unlocked once they appear during the story.

1. For snipers to be used more like snipers than CODS stupid idea of a Sniper.
2. For a Roll landing to standing position to be added to large falls as Sliding seems [censored] and unlikely if landed vertically.
3. Good voice comms in game for massive co-ordination.
4. Options to move the HUD around.
5. Changing in shape of cloths not just colour and templates. Like length of sleeves and buttoned or unbuttoned.
6. Multi-player to be some sort of insignificant battle in the story so you dont feel you are just replaying the story over and over.

Ill have more to come but thats the beginning.
