So http://store.steampowered.com/app/232790/, a.k.a. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/doublefine/double-fine-adventure, a.k.a. http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/167549/Double_Fine_Kickstarter_brings_huge_boost_to_crowdfunded_games.php, has been publicly released, at the moment only on Steam and only the first half of it (Act 2 will be released as a free update, most likely in April).

Anyone care to share their impressions?

Anyone not bought it yet but planning to?

I played the beta and enjoyed it but the simple puzzles and limited interactions left me feeling a bit flat, it's a definite tribute to the classic point and clickers but it really isn't the second coming, hopefully act 2 will be more challenging and deep.

I agree, puzzles were a bit on the simple side. However, from what I've been able to gather from the documentary, that is intentional and they definitely plan to make Act 2 more difficult. The purpose of Act 1 was more to set the story up and end on a... cliffhanger, I guess? It's not so much of a cliffhanger per se, but it definitely leaves you with a lot of questions.
