Broken Mod? Help Please

Post » Fri Mar 11, 2016 6:40 am

So, about a week ago I decided I wanted to have a go at making a mod for Morrowind using the construction set. It's just a basic quest/companion mod, where I added a lot of my own dialogue and two scripts, plus placing various items, 2 NPCs and a creature. All the things I used are from vanilla Morrowind or Bloodmoon/Tribunal, nothing from other mods.

Now, I tested the mod a while back, and found that while it could run in Morrowind I had to fix the dialogue and scripts. Basically, when I'd all polished and finished everything-the mod doesn't work. When I go to load a save where I'm in Khuul with my new mod enabled, it crashes the launcher every time, after the "Loading area" bar is filled. Only in the area Khuul, however, as far as I can tell. That's the area where most of my mod stuff is. Even starting a fresh vanilla save and going to Khuul via silt strider made the game crash when it loaded the area.

I've run my mod through all the errorchecks, wrye mash, I can't find out what's wrong with my mod. I could play with it in the earlier versions, so why is it broken now? Any help would be really appreciated.

Did you use MWEdit?

Not much for us to go on though, try sharing the plugin and we can take a deeper look.

Anything show up in your Warnings.txt file when it crashes? When you say "mod stuff", what else have you edited/added to the Khuul area?

No, I used the construction set the whole time, never touched MWEdit. Here's the plugin, if you can find what's wrong:

dropboxdotcom/s/zflyxe3ej2hsb9m/Javik%20Werewolf.esp?dl=0

(Add a . where "dot" is, and put the www. before dropbox)

I've added various potions, two unique chests, an NPC, a creature with dialogue, and static objects like tables, stands etc.

This is all that's in my warnings file:

Texture "Textures\enviro 01.dds" count 14.

Texture "Textures\_land_default.tga" count 3.

Texture "Data Files\Textures\bat.tga" count 3.

Texture "Textures\menu_thick_border_bottom_right_corner.dds" count 2.

Not really sure what to make of it.

Script "javikpotion" uses "OnPCEquip" without declaring it as a short variable first.

Script "ChestJ" incorrectly uses "=" for comparison, rather than "==".

Script "Lycanthropycurse" is using "<" where it should probably be using ">". This is the one that causes the game to crash.

I fixed those scripts, and it now works! Thanks so much. Now, though, I have this weird dialogue loop. When I click a reply to a topic for my talking creature, he just repeats the first part of the topic over and over again no matter which reply I choose. Any idea what's wrong?
