I've Broken My Power Armor

Post » Tue Dec 08, 2015 4:57 am

I'm hoping someone can help me.
Two pieces of my power Armor is broken and I took it off the Shell and I can no longer add it back onto it as it is broken.
It tells me to repair the item but I have no idea how to do it as whenever I try it isn't in the options to be repaired
Anyone got any ideas on what I can do. Or am I going to have to use my Armor with two pieces missing

I've tried that but the power Armor option isn't there for it. It just has my other gear. Is their a perk I need to fix it?

My guess is it's a higher level perk we have to invest in. It keeps Power Armor from being too much of a game changer, early on.

Armor crafting workbench. When you start crafting, look on the very bottom of the screen. It tells you exactly what you need to know.

What are you peole talking about?

OP it's not the armor crafting workbench that you need, it's the power armor workbench, that's the thing that's holding up the power armor in the main menu of the game. There should be one in sanctuary and at the first red rocket station you find.

You just have to move the power armor in front of that workbench and then get out of it, your power armor will then be "locked" into that workbench and you can use it to repair parts of the power armor directly. You can also use it to repair power armor parts that are in your inventory, though that's not the best case, since they are REALLY heavy to carry around.

Not the armor crafting station. You need the Power Armor Crafting station. The first you will probably encounter is one at Sanctuary.

Use power armour (yellow crane thing) work station.

To do so, Park the Armour in it, then get out and interact with the workstation. You'll then be prompted to repair parts of your armour.

If you have various spare components in your inventory, it'll salvage them automatically for base components to fix that particular piece (telling you what it wI'll pick).

Once done, exit the workstation, then interact with your armour (but don't select the enter option yet). Once interacted with the armour, press r to transfer the Armour pieces that were repaired. You should See the plates now equiped on the exoskeleton.

Hope this helps. ;)

brainfart sorry
I have not bothered with the regular armor, since random drops so far have been enough to keep my regular armor up to date so far,

I have something similar going on. I got the armor, and got it pretty well busted up fighting the critter. Then the power supply went dead, and I couldn't move to finish that particular fight (if you've done it you know what I mean, eh?) so I took the armor off, managed to kill the critter.

Now the thing is that I can't equip the armor because it's broken, and the power armor workbench wont let me use it unless I have power armor equipped.... Catch 22, you see. Any thoughts?

If the armor is dead-dead, can you not move in it? Just take it to the nearest Power Armor crafting station and you'll be given the option to repair the various pieces if you have the scrap to do so.

If you can't move it due to being out of juice, I wouldn't worry about it until you find another Fusion Core.

Well, I can move in it, but it's an achingly slow process, and I can't really fight anything. That's why I took it off, and added the pieces to my normal inventory. When I get to the Power Armor crafting station, it only says one thing: "You must have power armor equipped to use the crafting station." No option for fixing the pieces.

Yeah, that's because the armor exo-skeleton needs to be present.

You're going to have to slog it back to the Red Rocket Station, march the armor right up to it, then service it from there.

Go back to red rocket outside sanctuary. Search around the area outside the gas station and you'll find a mole rat cave. There's a fusion core in that cave.

I already cleared that cave, and didn't find it, I'll have to go look again. Thanks for the tip, I'll try it.

If I'm not mistaken its in the back left corner...they're will be a fusion generator and you'll get rad damage quick but the core is on the floor right in front of it.

Thanks for that, I'll have to go look yet again... I've gone through it until I've about died of radiation three times, and haven't found it yet. :)

I went back in the cave, and there it was. I'd have sworn there was nothing there previously... :D

Anyway, the power armor's all fixed now. Even though I had all the parts of the armor in my inventory, it turned out there was a "ghost" or perhaps hologram version of the armor still standing where I had exited it. Turns out I had to go enter the ghost armor and walk it to the power armor bench to get it to work.
