Broken Skyrim?

Post » Thu Nov 06, 2014 11:48 pm

Basically i have around 40 mods, i cant [censored] post a gyazo link so thats kinda [censored].

So yeah i got the game a month ago, it started [censored] up around 2 weeks ago.

I don't think its the mods doing it because they've been working for a few weeks, im aware certain things can cause the mods to break the game, but i dont know how to single out the mod.

I've tried "cleaning the scripts" of my saves, but to no avail - it didnt solve the issue.

THE ISSUE IS, that Skyrim will not allow me to save, autosave is off.

And I have deleted all saves so i have 1 left, this fixed it for an hour . But the problem came back :(

A new problem came up last night to, I can't get past the loading screen when I have began to load a game from the Main Menu.

I have seen my attempted saves, in my save directory (they are .tmp files) I believe the normal saves are (.ess)?

Maybe this will help anyone if they do decide to attempt to solve this with me.

If anyone knows how to fix this, or can offer any solutions. I'm willing to murder a dog for Skyrim to work as its pissing me off.

So then yeah, if anyone can help I'd appreciate it.

To recap:

I cannot save, i cant even overwrite my loadable save

And I sometimes cannot even get past the loading screen when i have loaded a game from the main menu.

Thanks.

Jack

Are you using SKSE? May try re-installing that. It sounds to me like the Documents/Games/Skyrim/Saves folder is read-only or denying write permissions. I know thats not much help, but maybe a start?

SKSE was downloaded, and funny you should mention that. When I installed SKSE this was when the problems started to occur. But since then I have uninstalled SKSE (manually).

But I have uninstalled and reinstalled since SKSE.

So I'm not too sure, I'll go check the save folder now though

Thanks.

I've unticked the folder so the files are no longer read-only.

It's still there, before i could actually play the game. But now it wont even start and it's still stuck on the loading screen (short piece of skyrim music plays, so the game is still running just that the game wont load).
