Meanwhile, another person was also sharing the same fate. However, the Courier survived, tracking down Benny to the Strip and finding out his plan to take over New Vegas. After killing Benny, the Courier stepped into his shoes and killed Mr. House, upgrading the securitron army and pushing back both the NCR and Caesar’s Legion at the Second Battle of Hoover Dam. A truly independent Vegas was created.
With the Brotherhood of Steel crippled, the Capital Wasteland fell into chaos. The Enclave simply went underground, and waited a few years for the FEV virus to do its work. All of their resources were sent to the planning and preparation for Operation Manifest Destiny. Once the dust settled, the Enclave rose from the ashes once more and took control of the entire region. Most of the BoS Remnants’ hideouts were flushed out, and all of the “pure humans” that were still alive were forced to join the Enclave. Anyone who refused was killed. There were rebels, of course, but ragtag groups without leadership struggled against the overwhelming, power-armored, and heavy-weaponed war machine that was the Enclave.
While underground, the Enclave scientists had developed a special FEV antivirus that when released into Project Purity, completely cleaned it of the contamination. Their unlimited resources was now topped off with purified water. Of course, it was only for themselves, and any non-Enclave individual that approached the Tidal Basin was shot on sight. Once complete control was established, Stage Two of Operation Manifest Destiny began. They began to slowly move their army west, destroying any minor settlement they passed by, saluaging the resources, and enslaving any survivors. All Legion forces to east were crushed. Two years later, their entire army arrived on the outskirts of Nevada. All the major factions knew of their presence, but they were too afraid to send their own soldiers to go after them, and hoped another faction would attack first. Nobody did. Stage Three began.
The remaining three missile salvos of the Bradley-Hercules satellite was fired on Shady Sands, Camp McCarran, and the Strip. The Fort was spared from an orbital strike, but was instead immediately assaulted and sacked by ground troops. There were no survivors. In Shady Sands, president Kimball as well as many other government officials and military leaders were killed. Kimball had no children, and with no line of succession, the job was up for grabs. With this and so many other slots missing, the government collapsed within a very short period. Military operations were halted throughout the Mojave, even more so due to the loss of McCarran. The Courier died while sleeping at the presidential suite of the Lucky 38 when the missiles came down. The Three Families were powerless once more when their casinos were ruined, and those who weren’t killed scattered back into tribes. Finally, the Enclave did a ground sweep across the entire Mojave. The NCR, with lack of coordination, was picked off easily base by base, and individual towns were of little trouble. Hoover Dam fell like a domino and Colonel Moore was executed. The power supply from Hoover Dam helped the Enclave even more. The Brotherhood of Steel bunker wasn’t found, but they didn’t intend to come out and fight anytime soon.
So after a two-and-a-half-month campaign, the Mojave Wasteland had fallen to the Enclave. They set up HQ in the ruins of the Strip, their communications center in McCarran, and their frontline base at the Mojave Outpost. Pockets of resistance dwelled in hideouts, but they seemed of little concern. However, they were not about to take any risks of being flanked in Stage Four. They had formulated the plan wisely, and therefore they were going to make sure all opposition was annihilated completely before they began the long campaign to conquer California.
And that’s the situation now. To sum it up in a sentence, “Everything went right for the Enclave.” There are only four real threats to them, which make the factions.
Mojave NCR Remnants
Overview: Those who fought bravely and honorably for the NCR were killed. Those who fled were also killed. But those who fled and were very, very lucky managed to escape, and some have regrouped. Although they are not numerous and their supplies are limited, the NCR is the only government-based resistance left in the Mojave.
Leader: Ranger Kudlow, who was in charge of RSF and has been upgraded to leader of all Mojave-based NCR troops.
Current Location and Status: Ranger Station Foxtrot was the only NCR base not found by Enclave forces due to its hidden nature and the Cazador nests surrounding the area. They’ve come dangerously close, though, and sending out parties for food and ammo is always a risk to them.
Numbers: Around two hundred, almost fifty of them refugees rather than soldiers.
Primary Objective: Survive until reinforcements from California arrive. Attacks on Enclave are rare, and they only do so when a great opportunity presents itself.
OOC Notes:
-They don’t like to be called the “Remnants,” mostly because it is demoralizing. Just NCR is the more frequently used informal name.
-The idea is that people that join the RP in this faction convince them to fight the Enclave more and not just rot away while waiting for help that will never come.
Jacobstown Rebel Army
Overview: With the cure for the stealth boy illness found by Doc Henry and the Courier, Jacobstown became “a haven for super mutants and nightkin.” Many of them came to the place, increasing their numbers, and there was no fitter fighting force than a large group of calm, coordinated radiation giants. That’s what the Enclave found out the hard way. They fought fearlessly, and the terrain as well as the fortress-like walls of Jacobstown made it the perfect base for defending against the overwhelming enemy. Eventually, after serious casualties, the Enclave left them alone temporarily and input them as part of Stage Four. Many heard of how they had beaten the war machine, and it became a place of glimmering hope. Some humans fled and found the safety of its walls, preparing to fight or help in any way they can.
Leader: Marcus
Current Location and Status: They are having a surprising amount of peace in Jacobstown, which makes Marcus suspect something is coming. He is right, because once Stage Four begins the Enclave will send everything they have at them over and over until they are crushed. They will have no place to retreat.
Numbers: Within the five-six hundreds, with a little over three hundred super mutants/nightkin.
Primary Objective: Beat the Enclave (somehow) before they are wiped out.
OOC Notes:
-Guess what? If you want to be a super mutant, we actually have a good place to put you rather than sticking out like a sore thumb. Humans are fine to join, too.
-I know it would be a bit impossible to put five hundred people in real-game Jacobstown, but let’s just give it the benefit of the doubt. You can’t cross the entire state of Nevada in about twenty-four in-game hours either, but it’s just a game. (Same for ranger station)
The Wild Cards
Overview: Once the army started sweeping the desert, raiders and gangers all realized that they would be doomed. The Fiends, Jackals, Vipers, and Powder Gangers all set aside their differences to unite under the single cause of survival. Many reformed from chems and finally found pride in fighting for a cause. The brave Khans believed they could fight the Enclave, but once Red Rock Canyon was burnt to ash and Papa Khan was killed they joined the WC as well.
Leader: Samuel Cooke
Current Location and Status: It was unanimously decided that Vault 19 was the most safe and concealed place to live. Samuel Cooke became leader for allowing them into the vault, but he has a small council of advisors such as Regis, Motor-Runner, and Eddie.
Numbers: Between eight and nine hundred.
Primary Objective: Kill every Enclave soldier. (Yes, criminals tend to not be so smart)
OOC Notes:
-No, it is NOT a coincidence that it sounds like Ant1liv3’s RP. I changed it since I started hoping he might cancel his and join mine. Maybe. I somehow doubt it.
-In this case Vaults are SUPPOSED TO hold one thousand people anyway so I don’t want to hear complaining.
-All of the “Red Section” and “Blue Section” things were forgotten about. While Samuel Cooke was in the Red Overseer’s office, the Blue Overseer’s office was simply turned into another room.
Enclave Secret Society
Overview: When shocking images of the FEV sickness as well as what they did to people on their campaign to the west was suppressed by the government, people in positions of power got a hold of them. While most did not care one bit, some realized that this was not the way the United States should be, with Enclave controlling everything. A handful of powerful government and military people came together to form the SS and held various plans to take down the Enclave from the inside.
Leader: Major William Parker
Current Location and Status: Scattered throughout Enclave government, they convene in a secret underground room. Until now they’ve only done small things like redirecting supply lines to end up in the wrong place, or sending secret radio broadcasts to rebel forces (the only ones responding are the Wild Cards, though) of when Enclave patrols are taking place so they can be ambushed. They realize they need to up the ante before the rebels are destroyed.
Numbers: Between twenty and thirty. Around ten are high-ranking people.
Primary Objective: Weaken the Enclave forces enough for the rebel forces to make a move.
OOC Notes:
-In this case, you get to not only wear power armor but also you get to be of very high rank. You won’t see that much combat, though, except if you go out with Enclave soldiers and shoot them in the back every now and then. In the end there should be a final battle everyone’s invited to.
-You can go ahead and take conspiracy plots directly from books or movies, because I understand coming up with your own can be tricky.
And that's all, folks. Go ahead and tell me if it's something you'd be interested in.
