I saved over one of my new characters, was kinda annoying, so I know how it feels.

I wish Bethesda would adopt a Dragon Age esque 'save file is saved within a character profile'.
I've never saved other any of my other dragon age character files, simply because character saves are seperated.
But Bethesda games I always do this.. once or twice. And when I do, I feel so annoyed with myself & bethesda. <_<

[censored] happens, he didn't do it intentionally and that's the point. Although he should certainly own up to it at least and say sorry. Just don't be childish and go planning childish revenge, makes you look bad more then anyone else. Be the good brother.

I had that happen yesterday on my pc game, I am the only one playing. One character saves overwrote all 10 saves (uniquely named) previous saves in my folder. I posted about it and somebody said they had it happen on their console too. Near as I can figure it was saying the save I wanted to overwrite was selected/hilighted but in fact it was overwriting different files each time. I lost a whole bunch of characters so now I have saves elsewhere on my hd for backup. I know that won't help w console but I am just saying maybe you should believe your brother.

Get Skyrim on PC, Steam automatically uploads your save's to the cloud so if they get deleted on you HDD steam automatically re-download's them again for you. I have 400+ saves for my lvl 41 High Elf. My save's folder is 4.8gb's.

This ^

I don't use the consoles in our house, so I'm asking: if the consoles use steam too, why don't they use the cloud? Is the service unavailable on Xbox/PS3? I swear I saw a cloud thing on one or the other once...

My brother and I both play Skyrim on the same Xbox and he likes to clear out the saves so there aren't too many, so I woke up this morning and felt like playing a little Skyrim before school and I see that there are only 8 saves 7 of which are his newly started Nord and 1 that is his lvl 48 Orc. So there you have it, he just deleted my only Skyrim save that I had spent 70 hours on..

I'm guessing there isn't any way to retrieve it

The worst part is that he wont even admit it, he says it's the game that did it..

Steal his sweet roll....

As stated previously create seperate profiles and preferably code lock them, and maybe punch him on the arm.

You could make him fetch your Mead while you start over and build a new character. The good thing is that it's still fun the 2nd time through, and you probably learned a lot on the 1st one. I always have multiple characters going on at one time. It helps keep things fresh.

This is why I NEVER share my PS3 with anyone. Accidents happen. My cousin was begging me to play, and I was like hell naw. I went as far as buying a separate copy of Skyrim for my PC, just to get his [butt] outta my [stuff].

Step 1: Delete all his saves.
Step 2: Kill all his companions.
Step 3: Kill a guard or two or more.
Step 4: Go to a different Hold and give away all his possessions including gold, just drop it all. [Or go to a Crypt/Dungeon and put it all in a chest that will soon reset]
Step 5: Go back and get arrested.
Step 6: Save in prison.

I am heavily confused with this logic

If he has his character, he'll want to play it still. All his stuff is lost though. Plus, if you've dropped his stuff... preferably in multiple bars, causing multiple fights, then most likely multiple deaths have ensued... causing multiple broken quest to be found later on.

If you delete his saves, he just starts over fresh. If you screw him over my way, the screw just keeps on turning.

step 1: delete all your brother saves
step 2: jump off grey beard mountain
step 3: save *troll face*

although there is still hope if he cheats, but its good to see the look on his face.

This actually sounds like a cool alternate start!! I wouldnt be so mad if that happened to me.
