Brotherhood vs Enclave

Post » Thu Mar 19, 2009 7:09 pm

So lets look at what im going to put out....

Brotherhood:Technological craving people,MOST chapters just take the tech they need and leave the people of the wasteland to die out.

Enclave:Bunch of people who wont let go off the pre war america: Would they kill off people who grew up in the wasteland of AMERICA? Oh Yes! Would they throw thousands of men to die against the odds of 15:1? Oh Yes!

I want to see what you guys can come up with, may the best Faction win

Cheers.

I think this is pretty hard since both factions are isolationist and make up for what they lack in other areas.

I guessing by the time in FONV their numbers are sorta equal, correct me if i'm wrong, but the B.O.S have better training. However the Enclave have better weapons and armor

In a fight between the Brotherhood of Steel and the Enclave the Brotherhood would win, I say this because they already won the last fight against them.

The Enclave suffered a crippling defeat in Fallout 2, and two crippling defeats in Fallout 3, one at the purifier and another at Adam's Air Force Base. They are battered and beaten, the Enclave won't provide much of a threat to anyone until they uncover another next super weapon.[which they undoubtedly will]. But until that point Enclave aren't up to fighting any major faction. Even the minor ones would be risky as they'd attract attention of the bigger factions.

Well, the Brotherhood hasn't tried a genocide yet, so they win by default :hehe:

Well, I'd choose the Brotherhood because in D.C. they care about the people, in Mojave if you join with NCR and don't blow them up they protect I-15 (DEATHCLAWS AAAAAAAH!!!! They're badasses) Most of all, they're not afraid of negotiation.

This is why the Enclave is better than the Brotherhood (taken from another thread I posted in but I think it arguments are still valid in this one)

These are the main reasons:

1. Whats in a name?: Personally their title "The Enclave" brillantly sums up something I love about them. The fact that they are indeed an enclave, in the defintion of the word, which means that they are a isolated group in the midst of a "whole lotta other crap" (thats the technical term for the wasteland btw). The fact that they are isolationist is one thing that drew me to them. Their strategy, in my view, is amazing. They sit back and work on building their strength while waiting for the opportune moment to strike when everyone else is fighting and weaking each other. Brillant.

2. Technology and Military Power: They are without a doubt the most advanced faction in the game universe. Their ability to develop and create new weapons, defenses, robots, and even the only aircraft in the world (the Verti-birds) makes me feel like I'm supporting a faction that knows what its doing in terms of actually being able to rebuild the ruined wastes. While others sit in squalor and twiddle their thumbs like morons (looking at you BoS), the Enclave has tech that they could never even come close to matching.

Their military strength is also something that is a sight to behold. As I said before, they are the only faction with the ability to have air-superiority and advanced logistics and mobility. Lets face it, had Lyon's or the Chosen one not been aided by bad writing, there is no real way that either of them would have succeeded in defeating the Enclave. (orbital strike targeting the citadel). Their advanced techonolgy also factors into their strength as a military. They are the sole (I would guess besides any pre-war ones) source of plasma rifles and plasma based weaponry in the wasteland. Maybe not necessarily in the west (plasma in Fallout 1), but the East for certain. They are able to arm even the lowest ranked of their soldiers with a least a laser rifle and Advanced Power Armor and their strongest with Hellfire armor and an incinerator. Not even the high and mighty Brotherhood that everyone seems to like so much can match this, not even by a long shot. I also don't see their "lack of numbers" as a weakness. Indeed in some ways I see it as a strength.

3. Stars and Stipes Forever: They are without a doubt the United States of America. The Enclave of the United States of America is not just a fancy title you know. I like how the Enclave are also related to COG (Continuty of Government) plans and how they retain control over pre-war bases and bunkers (Raven Rock and Adams AFB for example). The Brotherhood is not America.

4. Destroy, Rebuild, and Renew: Contrary to what alot of people seem to think. The Enclave aren't in the buisness of genocide for the fun of it. They are restoring the old world by removing what they see as a grave threat to the future of the human race, mutants (and are they wrong in this?) They just truly feel that the "ends justify the means" in this case.

Enclave is better. God Bless America. God Bless the Enclave

Though i'm not fond of the Enclave I have to say those were some pretty damn good points Lt. Andro

@ DasIljas: And agreed, other than the D.C Brotherhood, the rest of the B.O.S are pretty f-ing lazy

Short sweet and to the point. :foodndrink:

The Brotherhood of Steel are no more than over-hyped scavengers. They're as President Eden says "Power armored boy scouts". The Enclave makes technology, the brotherhood reuses it.

Enclave are destroyed in the West and Destroyed in the East. Please Devs of future fallouts don't bring them back as a major faction (remnants only). Remnants in Chicago. As a Faction In FO2 they were small. Have one base on the main land and a hand full of Vertibirds. Oil Rig gets nuked and Navarro falls to NCR and yet some how they have thousands of troops and unlimited vertibirds and worse armour in FO3.

Western BoS we still have no seen since FO2. Chances are they are under the same pressures as the Mojave Chapter.

MWBoS do let in outsiders, mutations and they control the Calculators army. They also take conrol of settlements. They made it to Chicago 79 years before start of FO3. They have fallen on hard times, we don't know what. http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1147247-factions-you-would-like-to-see-in-fallout-4/page__view__findpost__p__16920878.

Lyons BoS in DC are very small but do let in outsiders. I don't think they have intrest in controlling DC.

When it comes to tech Enclave win.

Simple easy answer:

The Enclave is the United States Government and Military. For those who dont like the Enclave are communist and should stay with the BoS and get bombed. <--- Totally not a 3rd party. GO ENCLAVE :D

I do want to know what happened to the Lyons Chapter and if they won against the mutants yet or not. I also want to know whats going on in other countries (Especially China.)

Enclave is not the US government, but a remnant of it. I think there is a lot of sense in the B.O.S philosophy that the wastelanders are just not ready for that kind of technology. Imagine a bunch of cannibals getting their hands on the kind of tech that B.O.S has. B.O.S has no desire to rule either, which makes them a lesser evil than the Enclave who are more like the FACIST NAZIS.

In New Vegas, the Enclave are no longer a faction of any importance. However, in Fallout 3 they are vastly superior to any other faction regarding saving the Wasteland.

I wouldnt mind them return as a small remnant faction surviving as little more than survivors trying to survive, using rusted Mk ll Power Armor when they scavenge. I also wouldnt mind if there was some sort of error in the air purifier of a bunker, and they were unknowingly poisoned by the bad filter.

BOS... Hermit crabs, with a bad attitude and prone to being unable to do anything than die when out of their shells homes.

Enclave... Inept lemmings who use Darwinian metheods to make the fittest survive, unfortunatly it's just not them.
Due to being PA lemmings with the survival instict of a dodo, everyone loves Darwinian lemmings, and Einstein Dodo's.

Who would win in a fight..
Neither the Enclave would shoot themselves and the BoS would pop their heads up at the wrong time...
Only to have it taken off by Humpty Dumpty a molerat.

Also there is in game quotes that the Mojave BOS chapter is not the only one left on the west coast.
At least that they know of.
I think at least Gretal Veronica mentions other chapters and a command chain outside of the Mojave.

Sounds right but it was not really a civil war with Lyons and the outcast more of "hissy fit" there was no shooting between the two. Unless it happened after the events of FO3. Outcast attack to get whats left of Optimus Prime causing bothsides to dwindle in numbers. Super Mutants and Raiders sack many settlements during this civil war. Whats left of the Enclave follow Augustus off to god knows where, Chicago most likely. :fallout:

If the Western BoS Fell I am sure we would have learned more about it in FO New Vegas. They had bunkers in San Francisco and the Den. There is still Lost Hills. NCR may have won against a Chapter but they would have a harder time winning against the main Body of the BoS.

MWBoS are a wild card.

ENOUGH WITH THESE [censored] DEBATE THREADS JESUS

The Enclave is actually trying to rebuild america to it's former self and try to rid the world of harmful mutations.

The Brotherhood on the other hand, sit in their holes taking technology, hogging technology, loving technology, worshipping technology.. A faction isn't one small 'renegade' group, it's a mass of people.. The overall Brotherhood does all of that.

I have to agree with that, but we still have no idea about places like Mississippi and Montana, and all of the the center us.But i do not consider Fallout Tactics as lore,so i dismiss it.
