I gotta say, that's one of the best forums I have ever been too.
I gotta say, that's one of the best forums I have ever been too.
And yet everyone is else is created to be other stuff but they choose to be otherwise.
'Everyone' who? A number of synths rebel, and that can easily be passed off by the Institute as glitched programming that needs to be patched. Once they figure that out, the road to mass producing X6s is wide open.
It's quite absurd that we see so many malfunctioning Synths, but only hear of a few that actually blend in and follow their orders.
How would you know?
The cool thing? 3rd generation Synths have been active for sixty years.
So, theoretically, EVERY MAN AND WOMAN IN RIVET CITY, could be a Synth.
Including Doctor Li.
You can't get humans to obey, no matter how hard you try.
The Enclave tried.
They failed.
That just suggests beings like X6 aren't human though...
Then I would wonder why haven't they taken the entire commonwealth over already.
Again, Kellog.
X6-88 wouldn't have approval for serving the Institute if he didn't have feelings.
He's no different from Frank Horrigan.
Or Mister Burke.
In any society, there will be slaves who obey for position as well as slaves who obey from fear.
X6-88 is a favored slave and his duties are to enslave others.
And that's the problem of Synths. Someone might be able to patch the older and less reliable Synths so they become obedient killing machines.
Well, the Railroad smuggles out people to Rivet City where they get new faces and memories.
Hence, how Paladin Danse becomes a member of the Brotherhood of Steel.
Also, the Railroad wouldn't make sense if there wasn't a steady number of Synths being put into the population.
Deacon's gang was a Synth hate group who regularly murdered free Synths and his wife was unknowingly one.
So, there's a LOT of Synths in the Commonwealth.
He could be programmed to make people believe that he has feelings.
Kellogg chose what he became. X6 was made to be what he was from the start. It's not even a question of synth vs. human any longer, it's the issue of a group of people capable of mass producing sociopaths. X6 did not obey out of fear, it was his default state to obey.
Ehhh...people have been trying to make those kind of people in RL for centuries.
But yeah, it does show the Institute's evil that he's what they want versus someone like Nick.
Well, that's the thing. People have been trying to mind-control others since forever... but in the world of Fallout, the Institute finally succeeded in doing just that, and that's why the Institute synths need to be eliminated.
Or just blow up the Institute and free the Synths.
But again, I remind you the Institute's mind control isn't 100% effective. You rescue 13 Synths in one go and there's an underground network amongst them in the Railroad quest.
Well, all you have to do to render a synth inactive is to shout out its recall code. And as far as I've seen, the Railroad has never been able to circumvent that.
That's pretty effective mind control.
Yeah, I talked about it in my Faction essay.
The Railroad and Brotherhood both believe they're THE GOOD GUYSTM.
The problem is the Brotherhood is committing genocide.
And the Railroad blows up TWO faction HQs with children in them.
Basically terrorism.
It's actually pretty funny that the Railroad doesn't have a problem with the Brotherhood until they start acting out against the RR. Heck, Deacon even uses you being in the Brotherhood to vouch for you.
Also, anybody notice how there are kids on the Prydwen yet nobody cares about them?
All you people wanting to hug it out with Synths, Mutants, and Ferals remind me of the guy that was keeping a bunch of mirelurk hatchlings as pets in the Irish Pride Shipyard. If you don't know what I'm talking about I suggest you explore that location thoroughly and see for yourself.
Also, the Railroad cares nothing for the hordes of feral ghouls and supermutants ravishing the land. The BoS does.
This. The RR's priorities start and end with synths. Even then, they only care about the human looking synths so synths like Valentine don't count in their eyes.
Heck, Deacon has some comments where he complains Desdemona doesn't do anything to help wastelanders when some help could build gratitude.
To be fair, if they did, the Institute would know where they are and kill them all.
What with being Big Brother and all.
Also, it's not entirely true as when you first meet Desdemona, you can say you're looking for your son and she offers to help even before she knows it involves the Institute.
