BTmod problems

Post » Mon May 02, 2011 8:12 pm

The map takes up the whole screen with the options in the lower left on top of it. Also, most of the time only the markers on the map are visible, not the map itself. Help would be greatly appreciated, I love this mod, but if I can't fix this I'll have to remove it.

Maybe not what you want to hear, but my best advice is to uninstall BTMod and install Darnified UI instead. Darnified can do everything BTMod can, and much, much more. Just make sure to install it using OBMM (and enable other scripting types there), as the omod script is very helpful.

I'm not interested in another mod, I just want this one to work.
Also, what's the benefit of using OBMM instead of just adding mods on the 'data files' screen?

You can't sort your load order just using the Data Files screen. It loads only loads by the date stamp of the file, with the most recent loading last. This will lead to conflicts at some point, causing your game to crash or do other strange things. OBMM allows you to place mods anywhere in your load order in order to avoid those conflicts.

Understood. But BTMod is sort of left in the dust, and you will not find many using it anymore. BTMod was the first ever mod I added, but I have long since upgraded to Darnified UI and can therefore no longer help you with it - and I think that is the case for most players.

Also, what's the benefit of using OBMM instead of just adding mods on the 'data files' screen?

Many, but the two most important are:
* OBMM remembers all files that were added by an omod, so if you uninstall it, it uninstalls all the files.
* Many mods come with an omod installation scripts that ensures that all the right files get copied/renamed correctly, and have dialog's explaining the options and letting you choose them. For Darnified UI this means that you can just click on a number of buttons to get the install options you want.

Okay, I've now tried Darnified UI and I have to say I hate all of the changes to the interface to make it more immersive or whatever. I can hardly see the various status bars, the 'sneak' icon is moved and the only good thing is that the map is fixed. Is there any way to leave the things I've mentioned normal and only apply the mods that are similar to BTMod? I know you can choose which components to install, but I see no way to not change the in-game interface back to normal. Help!

Sorry you didn't like it. I have never checked whether you can revert the hud back to normal by removing the related xml file so I'm not sure if it is possible. But what you can do, is to adjust every single detail of the hud to your liking. So if you want the status bars larger, moved or less opaque, you can adjust it. Go http://darnified.net/forums/index.php/topic,33.0.html for a description, but note that adjusting things is much easier than it seems from the explanation :)

I know you can choose which components to install, but I see no way to not change the in-game interface back to normal. Help!

Okay, I've been able to change every aspect of the hud back to the way I like it EXCEPT the text size. Anybody know how to change the text size?

Text size is dependent on the Fonts installed and active in Oblivion.ini. DarNUI has a larger font option when you are installing it.

You can't. Everything is so closely interrelated that if you change the font size, everything else is going to look like crap. I tried working with different fonts once and I could never get things to look good, which is why I don't use DarN. I'm not sure why you're having such a problem with BTMod frankly, I've never had any issues with it. Perhaps you're having a conflict with some other mod.

Greetings to all. I hope somebody can help me :) . Here that at me in game at use of mod (I know that on a screenshot you see DarkUI, but with only BTmod all looks is similar):

However this problem only on my notebook, on usual PC everything is all right. I at first thought that a problem in the screen resolution, but after its change, it has appeared that it not so.

I also never liked DarnUI. Everything was wayyyyyy too small (and yes I even had the so called "biggest" fonts, still was considered wayyy to small imo). Became annoying to look at.
So I tweaked the BTmod to my liking. Everything about the UI is great now.

To tweak the map, you should look in this directory (assuming you've installed the mod properly): Oblivion\Data\menus\prefabs\ui_config
Then open the file map_config.xml (open it in notepad).
After that, find the section "<!-- MAP ZOOM" and edit "<_mapzoom> 200 " to your liking.
300 = 0.5
200 = Normal
100 = 2x

Values between these above can also be written.

The problem with a map is not solved. You have any ideas? Let the map will remain unchanged, the main thing for me - a comfortable interface in the inventory window.

Are you using Deadly Reflex 6? It has an Oblivion.ini tweak suggestion, that causes things like this for the map menu for a substantial part of the players. I don't remember the setting, but you should know if you've done it.

No, I do not use Deadly Reflex. My active plugins - it's MMM (with optional plugins) and the official plugins.

Are you using Dynamic Map, without installing Menuque? Or using Menuque v8?
You need to use Menuque v7, or 9a to make it work with Dynamic Map.
