I just started playing Oblivion for the first time a few days ago. I'm about 6 hours in, and am really enjoying it so far. However, a bug presented itself to me yesterday.

When I first started playing the game, stealing had consequences, as it should. Recently, however, the red "steal" icon is gone.....and the normal "take" icon is in it's place. I can take anything I want without people caring. It's annoying me by taking away from the immersion, so I'd like to fix it if possible. The first time I noticed it was right after fighting in the arena for the first time. I think that maybe, since your allowed to take armor from the cabinet before the fight, this ability to take got "stuck", and now I can take whatever I want from anywhere.

If there is a fix for this I would appreciate hearing it. It's not the biggest problem in the world, but it's still a bit annoying. My version is on Steam, and I have the unofficial patch installed, unique landscapes, and a UI mod.
