BUG: Companion stuck in "death" state

Post » Wed Dec 02, 2015 6:01 am

Story spoilers! Read at own risk!

A couple of days ago, I did the Rockets' Red Glare mission with Hancock as my companion. After conpletition, I noticed he went missing, and I couldn't even switch companions. I decided to load a quick save from after the battle on the Prydwen, just before you join back up with Tinker Tom, and took a look inside. Low and behold, my missing companion was within, amongst the dead bodies.

He must have somehow glitched into a death state during the fight with Elder Maxon and his Knights, but I can't seem to get him out of it. I have no earlier saves to run off of, either (I know, I know) so I am unsure of what to do in regards to my companion situation. Like I said, I can't even switch out for a new one. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I'd really love to play with Hancock at my side.

Have you tried sleeping or resting for X amount of time? Sometimes with me, my companion will warp next to me after the fact when that happens.

Yes I have. I ended up finishing the main story last night, and low and behold, Hancock's body follows me. He talks and reacts, but he doesn't move. He just lies on the floor of wherever I enter. I dismissed him successfully after finishing the last mission, and he has yet to move from the top of a building and return to Sanctuary...
