Hi,

I've completed the main storyline and am now level 45 in Skyrim. I am trying to do Discerning the Transmundane but no matter how many times I talk to Septimus Signus, nothing appears in my journal for me to start the quest. Is it because I've already completed the main story arc (and have found the Elder Scroll, etc.), so now I can't do this one?

I don't have any mods installed (besides the Space Core one) and I've tried reloading a previous save as well as manually advancing the quest with the setstage command in the console. The latter does nothing except when I setstage it to 30, at which point it gives me the lexicon, or 40, when it gives me the Essence Extractor-- but neither of them actually make the quest appear in my journal.

I've googled a whole lot and haven't found anything, which makes me think maybe it's user error on my part...? But I have no clue what I've done wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
