Bug? - No dragons

Post » Tue Apr 01, 2014 3:22 pm

Hell guys!
I want to ask your opinion. On my previous character, I have been ambushed and attacked by dragons several times. With my new character, I am level 19 and I killed only one dragon, the one in the beggining for quest. Did not found any other dragon so far. But with my character, I killed almost 5-10 dragon on this level already.
I am using Deadly Dragons mod since the new character, can that cause the problem? Yesterday I deleted that mod, but nothing changed so far. Maybe the mod changed something in the console commands or in the data? Is that possible?

Don't remove mods from an ongoing game. Deadly Dragons doesn't change spawn rates anyway, so I doubt it's the problem. Did you change timescale? Is A Blade in the Dark quest active? Can you see dragons in fixed locations like Word Walls?
You might just be unlucky (or very lucky, some would say). It was like this for my first character too, I didn't understand why everyone complained about random dragon attacks and dead villagers, I hardly ever saw any.

Yes I have the Blade in the Dark quest. That can cause the problem? :o Btw yes I see dragons on Word Walls.

How long have you been playing? Head to the nearest Word Wall and check that dragons haven't been disabled somehow.

Random dragons are "on hold" during Blade in the Dark. Once you've finished that, dragons should reappear.

Really? Really!? One of the best places to jump off the Main Quest to explore and enjoy the world (Namely, you have all three words of FusRoDah, and the Dragon Spawn Rate hasn't been jacked to infinity) and the game disables the random dragons? WHAT THE HELL, BETHESDA!?

I sort of see it the other way around. Without getting too spoilery with the story, it would actually make more sense to me if the disabling happened after killing the dragon at the western watchtower. Not sure why it triggers so much later...

But that's when they're enabled, not disabled - the dragons are confirmed as a wandering threat at that point. Frankly, I don't think they should ever be disabled.

That post is the first I've heard of this and UESP makes no mention of it. But, assuming it's true, I imagine they did it to prevent the possibility of having to fighting Sahloknir and a random Dragon at the same time.

Then they could have disabled random dragons upon arriving at Kynesgrove.

It's possible that they do, I don't know. Like I say, this is the first I've heard of it. I'd be interested to see evidence that it exists.

Look up MQ106TurnOffRandomDragons in the CK, Pseron. It's there to prevent dragons from appearing on the way to Kynesgrove; if you accompanied Delphine and she saw you kill a dragon along the way, what would be the point of going further to prove you're the Dragonborn? She'd already know.
