Can't enter the railroad to continue the quest. I didn't join the railroad when I had the chance, so now I'm locked out of the area. Anyone else having this same problem?

I got a quest from the institute to kill desdemona .... can′t get in too :/ stuck in front of the door with the plate to rotate... it′s closed and i can′t open it

i have also encountered the same problem on xbox one.

if you are on pc, I would assume you can just type tcl in the console to noclip through the door. not sure about consoles though.

Edit: Ah nvm, didn't notice the xbox tag, my bad.

Having the same issue here. Watched the video and the top comment explains why it's happening which is great, but I really don't want to go back 10 hours and re-do everything. Has anyone found a solution for this yet?

I reported the issue to Bethesda. Does anyone know if they are going to provide an update?

Usually it happens to people that had the quest from BOS to breach the railroad and didnt complete it. That mission requires you to breach the door. When you choose the institute theres no way to breach it because your no longer with the brotherhood

Right, and the creators overlooked this which has created a massive flaw for anybody trying to beat the game that took this same direction. So is there a solution for it?

Bump. This needs to get fixed..

Also have this problem and even going back to an earlier save didn't fix it.
