Hey everyone,
I've been getting this really weird bug in the game, and I've searched all over the internet, the forums, the wikis, but I can't find anyone who has mentioned this before.
What happens is that literally every single enemy within the entire area is always alerted to my presence. This isn't a normal question of whether my sneak is high enough (for what it's worth, my sneak is at 100 and I have all the sneak perks and also some fortify sneak enchantments), because these are not normal alerts. I don't even have to be anywhere remotely close to them, it just happens automatically the second that they spawn within the overall area. It could be the middle of the night and they are within the walls of a bandit fortress that's two hundred feet away, and every single one of them will instantly be alerted the second I get close enough for them to appear.
Technically, I'm still able to hide from them, cause it's just like when you kill a bandit while in sneak and their friends will try to find your location, except I never did anything to alert them in the first place. Also, normally they'll give up if they haven't found you after about 15 seconds, but this bug makes it where they don't stop. What happens is that at after 15 seconds or so they sheath their weapons and say "guess I was just hearing things" and then instantaneously pull them right back out and start looking again, as if they were suddenly just alerted again.
When I first go into sneak it shows the closed eye with the word "hidden" underneath, but then about fifteen seconds later it shows "hidden" again, and it keeps doing that about every fifteen seconds. Even if I'm in my house and no one else is around, it keeps flashing "hidden" every fifteen seconds.
It's almost as if my character is sending out a "pulse" throughout the entire area and alerting every single enemy within the cell, even if they're a mile away. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this? Is there some way stop my character from instantly sending out an alert to every enemy around me?
Thanks!
PS: I feel fairly confident that this is not a mod issue. I am not running any mods that affect NPC behavior or my sneak abilities or anything of that sort. In general, my mod list is very basic and minimal, and they are almost entirely cosmetic in nature (i.e: SKYUI, the basic skyrim floral overhaul, some better LOD files, etc).
