Bug report and RIP Sara Lyons

Post » Mon Feb 15, 2016 11:02 am

Since the 1.3 update, I have had two game crippling crashes in a row. The first occured during a survival mode game, right after getting the free pet and sending it into the wasteland with a vault dweller. If I attempt the load that game now, Fallout Shelter (Android) immediately closes.

So I concluded the pets were bugged and started a new survival mode game. I reach 100 vault dwellers, avoided all pets, and was going along strong with Sara Lyons (the best reward I received from the bonus boxes) leading the longest expeditions into the wasteland. Then, again, save game crippling crash. This time I can start the game, a few seconds pass, and then the game crashes. Not enough time for the game to save the fact that I clicked anything. For example I can quickly click the "You successfully killed 11 wasteland creatures!" achievement, and see the animation, but the game will crash (as it does whether I click or not) and when I try to reload the same achievement is waiting to be clicked. As if the game is crashes at the moment it is trying to update the save data on the phone.

Sadly, Sara Lyons was exploring at the time of this crash and has no doubt run out of stim packs by now. RIP Sara!

I love your games gamesas, and this is no exception, although if you want me to put money in you'll have to make it a little more challenging, and you gotta mash these bugs! I would hate to have lost something I paid for in these crashes!

I look forward to the next update, hopefully something scarier than a few death claws! (TIP: build a vault you can quickly send weak dwellers into hiding in, no one said you have to KILL those first 20 death claws!)

Wait, what happens if you don't kill the deathclaws, can you just avoid them by moving your dwellers around the vault? Do they leave when the get back to the top? Oh man, so many new strategies

Deathclaws can be avoided by moving your dwellers. They will go away after reaching the end. But

1. it will take quite some time, they will steal your resource

2. You must have rooms for your dwellers to move, and move fast enough.

Death by Claw is a big part of my learning curb. Once bitten twice shy! I rework the plan till the shoes on the other foot! The basics: Dwells, Weapons and Room. Finding the weakest link.
