Edit: there is some inconsistend workaround for this if u leave the settlement (building) area and walk a bit away and check in ur pip-boy if everything is ok then u can fast travel and the stats of the settlement stay the correct. but i noticed even if i have enough beds and food etc. no new settlers are arriving. i am stuck at 9 in sanctuary and its not growing anymore ( dunno if there is a cap for settlers)

Player character pathing when entering armor suit. If I'm facing the front of the armor, which I have done a couple of times not paying attention, my character walks to the front of the suit and gets stuck. Gets stuck unable to path around to the back, no way out of this then to reload a previous save. If that save was a long time ago, you have have lost that much progress you'll have to do over.

NPC pathing while building a settlement, the get stuck on something and don't correct. I have to go into workshop mode, select that item so they can walk through to reset their pathing.

• It happens at some specific parts of the map. It happened at the wilderness near Forest Grove Marsh, and upon arriving to Diamond City.
• It happened again and again after I closed and reran the game.
• My save file is 5.4MB.
• My character level is 6.
• I use no mods.

The bug I encountered is blocking progress. All of a sudden the game will stop rendering properly and the colors get messed up in a way that doesn't allow me to play it and progress. It goes away if my character looks backwards, but that stops me from being able to go were I want. When the bug occurs I noticed that the sound changes too. A sound like air howling plays.

I'm sorry to say that the iFPSClamp fix for stuttering does indeed start breaking stuff after a while. I couldn't enter Vault 114 because the animation on the door panel had broken, I did several test runs of the area and it seems conclusive, iFPSClamp will eventually screw something up.

This is a real bummer as none of the other stutter fixes work on my system

Frequent CTD, every 5-10 minutes. Can't get through opening scene now with the facemaker.

Ran fine for about 30 hours in 2x15 hour sessions with rock solid stability - Ultra settings, no mods or changes.

Since yesterday evening, the crashes started and haven't stopped during game play. These crashes give no log, dump, or message in the windows logs.

I've troubleshooted for 8 hours straight now, I'm tired. The only thing remaining to check are:

- invalidated settings caused by yesterday's patch

- yesterday's patch messed up everything

- yesterday's patch in conjunction with a Windows update

Unfortunately, you can't roll back patches on Steam unless Bethesda enables this, so can't test.

Has a few workarounds (if you're on PC) and is same problem, hopefully it'll help you.

I confirm the two bugs linked with the quest "Confidence Man". The first is with the quest itself: when I go into the brewery with Travis I'm unable to set Vadim free and cannot complete it.

The second and most serious bug is the fact that, most likely after the bar fight, my character is essentialy invincible. When my health points get to 0, I just get back up, as if my player was set to 'essential'.

1) I can't reholster a weapon. I can ready it, but hitting the key again does nothing. The only way I can put a weapon away is to interact with a person or a container (which should really only lower a weapon, especially a conversation).

I tried this with and without AutoHotKey, which is my only "mod." R is remapped to \, but as I said, happens without the remap as well.

This just isn't very well documented - this is achieved by holding down the key, it does work.

2) I found that if no one had stolen it yet, I could remove the power cell from the powered armor to prevent its theft. When I came back from a mission, there was another power cell in its place.

Mind you, if you'd let me *lock* the thing, then I don't mind the free power cells.

3) There are many issues with construction, but the most baffling is no locks on doors. I hope this was a fixable oversight and not "failing as intended."

AutoHotkey remapping move and some interface functions

To add somewhat to this (mild spoilers follow) this happens prior to completing a quest.

My character skips when moving around. Basically seems like my character is just doing mini-teleports forward while walking.

I am using a Microsoft XBox wireless controller via the Windows controller adapter/receiver and I am connected HDMI to my 60" Samsung TV. I've put my settings on the lowest settings possible and it still happens.

This controller works on all other games, to include Fallout 3 for over 120 hours without issue.

I have confirmed that shutting off controller mode in the in-game settings makes the skipping stop. So that is the sole problem. However, I am trying to play with a controller and not KB/M. The skipping still happens even when using a KB/M and the controller is off. As long as that setting says YES, the issue exists regardless of any other factors.

I'm running the latest GPU drivers available.

I am willing to let a Bethesda employee remote into my machine and run any tests their hearts desire. I will help out in any way that I can.

Game runs pretty well HOWEVER:

I am getting crashes to desktop with no error message or anything. Just a milisecond switch and I'm on my desktop.

THIS ONLY happens when I've used or am using a workbench for settlement editing. It doesn't always happen, sometimes it's fine. However If I stick around crafting objects for my settlement for long enough I will get a crash.

literally all of my crashes have happened when in a settlement or building stuff in it.

I've capped at 60 fps, I've gone windowed borderless, I've disabled the Shield nividia thing. I was running the BETA as well which I installed after I started the game and made my first character. I've verified the game twice, and am now in the process of reinstalling.

I've uninstalled my xbox 360 controller and use the xbox one controller now. It does give me a run time error when I plug in the controller but it works fine anyway so I have no idea if that has something to do with it. though I doubt it.

It could be my character file and I might just restart and see if I don't have crashes when using a workbench for too long.

I have no idea why I have a game that runs pretty damn well and then suddenly I get a crash on making settlements.

I need a patch or something.

Switching between POV does appear to be a valid workaround. I had the bug happen a few times yesterday (for example just after I hacked a terminal and after going through a loading door).

Problem: Resources/Objects disappearing from settlements

(System- and Savegame-Info at the bottom)

I noticed that the farther I am away from Sanctuary Hills, the more objects are disappearing from my "Workshops"-Page in Pip-Boy. In my case those were beds, power, and waterpumps. It shows in the Pip-Boy that I have 1 bed, 0 power, and 0 water; if I don't go back, happiness starts to go down because of this. As soon as I approach Sanctuary Hills the objects start showing up again (the number of beds/power/water increases gradually in Pip-Boy) until they reach maximum when I am within the settlement itself. When I move away, the numbers drop again. This has impact on the happiness of Sanctuary Hills, so this is not just a visual problem in Pip-Boy. Other stats are interestingly, in my case, not affected (like People or Food).

The "threshold" where this starts to happen is a little outside of Red-Rocket Truck Stop, moving away from Sanctuary Hills. Reproducible every time, even after restarting the game or loading another save. I noticed that while standing in Red Rocket that my Pip-Boy would flash back and forth between reporting 1 bed, 0 power, and 0 water to the correct amount. Haven't seen any apparent issues with any other settlements, but I don't have them nearly as advanced as Sanctuary.

My vague assumption is that all the objects I have built in Sanctuary Hills are not only removed from rendering, but also from processing by the engine during optimizations for distant objects.

Impact: Can't keep Sanctuary Hills happy as they practically never have beds, power, or water. Other settlements may be affected also if built properly.

:EDIT: Someone posted earlier yesterday in the that TVs seem to be causing this issue. I removed all TVs from my two main settlements, and after two hours, I haven't had the bug happen once.

I'm sure your first patch to fix this will take a while, can you at least give us the console route to resolving this? I'd really rather not roll back 3 hours of gameplay.

Went back to using my SB Audigy 2 and now I have a number of audio problems. A bit different from your issue, but when I'm talking to NPCs they sometimes sound like they're in a tunnel far away, but I'm right next to them. If I face an NPC directly, I can't hear them at all, but when i look slightly away the audio comes in. Also, Nothing sounds like it's coming from where it actually is. I also don't have the pip boy noises, and no radio DJ when listening to Diamond City Radio, but the music plays.

Update: Sound card got automatically set to 5.1 surround when switching audio devices. Switching back to 2.1 fixed all said problems. Solved thanks to yunage.

Took a bit of experimenting but I've pinpointed the bug I've been having issues with exactly.

When I get into the game and load up the Steam overlay, the tab button will stop working. I can enable it again by loading the Steam overlay over and over again and trying to load up the Pip-Boy menu and with some time the Tab key will work. On the other hand, once I do that, the Workshop menu will be controlled by A and D instead of ← and → on the keyboard. Also when I try to load the map by pressing M after the tab issue, the entire game will crash.

For instance - Getting out of your Power Armour, someone could be stuck walking around in that for the rest of the game and not even realise you are supposed to be able to get out of it.

whenever i launch fallout 4 it just black screens right away and stops working i check my pc system setting to make sure they meet the minimum , made sure fallout is running a admin and made sure no antivirus program is blocking it from running but its still black screening and just stopping from working the sec i launch it . if anyone has any idea i would love to hear it since ive tried dozens of hotfixes some people have got it work for them but so far nothing at all is working and havent seen even 1 sec of the actual game

Quest "HERE THERE BE MONSTERS"

Just after talking to the kid at the dock side, you get the little green quest notification pops up, the camera is looking at your own PC - And gets stuck there.

You cannot continue

When I try to start the game, it will immediately crash with no error window. I'll post an event viewer log at the bottom with the dxdiag log. I've done everything from uninstalling the game to uninstalling windows. Nothing seems to work for me, but my brothers game runs fine. (He runs an Intel i5 2500k, 2x EVGA 670FTW, 8GB RAM, for reference)

Not an in-game issue.

Everytime I press play, the intro video will start for about a second, sometimes with sound, sometimes without, then the game will crash with no error window, only popping up "Fallout4.exe has stopped working"

Level 15-ish
