I am hoping someone here can help, since official Bethesda support has provided no assistance.

I was doing the quest Taking Independence and reached the objective "Power up the radio transmitter" or something like that.

I built 1 large generator and connected it. The transmitter turned on (lights went on and it started moving), but the quest objective didn't update.

I tried building 2 medium generators, many small generators, and even 5 large generators at one time, but nothing could complete the objective.

I tried loading previous saves, leaving the area and coming back, and so on. In the end, I used the console the complete the quest, which worked...however...

Preston still will not say anything other than "Power up that radio tower". I completed 2 other minutemen recruitment quests, but am unable to turn them in since Preston won't speak to me.

I am also unable to receive any other Minutemen quests. And although the quest is completed, I cannot listen to the radio station to receive any extra minutemen quests. I can't recruit any additional areas or open other workshops.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
