Bug with potion duration

I made a cute, decorational potion that serves as a catnap for my character. Had an idea to release the house as a simple house mod, so I'm trying things out, and that potion surprised me. I set it to give the user a blind effect for 28800 seconds, 8 hours, but ended up having to wait over 10 days before it wore off. What's up with that? Is it a normal thing, a known bug, or is my cs/Morrowind just a special snowflake? Or do effects not actually wear off during the wait time, but only during the real time?

I believe it is normal - durations in MW reflect the length of the effect in real time, and the timescale used by default means that each ingame day is equivalent to 48 minutes. 10 days is 480 minutes, which is exactly 8 hours.

Jesus Christ, talking about a bad design. Ok, thanks a lot for clearing that out, I've never made anything that should count waiting time. Ok, 28,800 was a massive overkill then. :D
