Development staff,

I have 24 pounds of unusable quest item garbage in my inventory. From the Great Kahn (Who are all dead) Weapons Cache to 4 of the 5 snow globes (Mr House is Dead). Can you please either make quest items have no weight or make quest items that are no longer usable undroppable, PLEASE?

Moreover, I found all of the snow globes after like 20 hours of looking and to my GREAT disappointment I did not get the Achievement, I don't care if I can get the 2000 caps each but WHY does the achievement not occur after finding the last snow globe. It is called "Find All" not "Turn in All" and as mentioned if Mr House is Dead or incapacitated and Yes Man has upgraded all of the Securitrons can you allow the player to add the Globes to the stand themselves or just drop them?

All that said, I love the game, loads of fun and after doing just 2 of the endings, can't wait to do the rest.

PS3 version.

All game I've received random hostility from NCR (100% sure that I was not wearing faction armor) despite being friendly with them.

Now I'm up to "accepted" but they send a constant stream of Rangers after me and many named NPCs attack me for no reason.

It's ruined my save and I'm not confident about starting a new one until it;s patched.

Sorry if this has been posted before (I'm on my phone so my patience is pretty low to go through every single page) but I found this new video that shows a major exploit. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thU7wmC9arM

He may have used the console to obtain the XP but it can be replicated on systems so people can have maxed out characters past level 30.

I found that one too, a while ago. It works for the New Vegas Strip, but not the Northern portion, you know where the Lucky 38 and Gomorrah are. Thanks for trying to help, though.

Did you try the cowboy hat trick? Which you can buy at Crimson Caravan. I don't know if someone tried it for that issue, but I heard some people
using that to get into the Strip. Personally I didn't had any issues going anywhere when I uninstalled/reinstalled the game. Just freeses, companion glitches and slowdowns. At least I managed to finish the game.

It worked !!!
I don't know how or why but it worked.
I had almost given up.
Now I can finish before COD Black Ops comes out on Tuesday. LOL
SAVE SAVE SAVE

No cancel for BRINK but please test it more before release.

I have the same problem of going into the strip after killing Caleb for the Wranglers quest. I really hope this is fixed quickly because the main quests require entrance into the strip, I can't sell my snow globes now and I can't access my stuff in the presidential suite. I haven't tried the hat trick (pardon the pun) yet but I will tonight then edit this post.

On a forum that I frequent - I'm posting on behalf of my friend:

"hit a nasty glitch in the game this morning: Arcade Gannon will no longer follow me. The option to have him follow me has vanished. He just wanders around the Lucky 38 endlessly now. I also got the trophy for getting all companions even though I haven't gotten Cass yet."

"Have you tried talking to him again? Or has the companion wheel disappeared?"

"I took him back to Lucky 38 so I could get Raoul as a companion, and after I took Raoul back to the Strip and left him in the Presidential Suite, Gannon no longer has an option to ask him to travel with me again. This appears to be a pretty common glitch (in the same way that Veronica has a habit of vanishing entirely)."

"Veronica disappeared when I left a building the other night, but luckily I just went back inside and she turned up again. "

I've been playing for about 5 hours (had to finish Fo3 first) and have only one glitch that isn't too bad but it's odd: You know the Disintegration counter (disintegrate 32 enemies)? I've only fried about 6 enemies with my laser pistol. Well, every time i exit the General Store in Goodsprings, the count goes up by one. I'm at 26 of 32 so far and I believe it also counts when i exit other houses as well. No great big deal but I searched this forum for it and got no results so... anyone else run into this? Not necessarily a problem but I was just curious if there are similar issues that have been reported.

Thanks

Not sure if this has been mentioned, tried searching and I didn't really feel like reading this entire thread to see mention of it.

When fast traveling to the Pawn Shop on the West side of Vegas I always have a loading time of about 2 minutes. I haven't had long loading times anywhere but here so far. Also, when I arrive there, the framerate drops immensely until I leave the area. The framerate drop will occasionally cause me to freeze in this area. I have not tried walking to here from a nearby point to see if that has any effect.

At times,I have arrived here and seen 8 - 12 NPCs directly in front of me which I believe may be related to the fps drop.

The Year is 12,28,81
I am LVL 26
My XP is 51627

I have many hours of playtime in, the game seams endless.
So I feel I got my moneys worth.
Maybe you tried to make the game too big.

I have been playing through ALLLL the freezness'es and saving all the time.

I checked all my old saves and all do the same
I go to the gate at the strip click X the load screen comes up and loads then Blackness FOREVER.
I think I might need to get to the strip and talk to Mister House to end the game.
Since the last time I was there I only talked to Yes Man.

So does this mean I am as far as I can go?
Is there another way into the strip?
Did I spend $70 on a game that is endless?
Will I be cancelling my BRINK pre-order?

I Love the game too bad its broke.

Bill

I agree, what a shame such a great game is ruined by so few NASTY glitches. I already cancelled my Brink pre-order, makes more sense to wait and see if it is as busted as FO3 GOTY (Radio talking about missions not yet done and Prime Freezing on the Bridge Constantly, More) and New Vegas (Too many glitches to list, mostly freezing, busted quests, clipping, etc.). I hope you get the chance to finish the game though, I am two ending down (Aiding the NCR and The Boss) and they were both really good. I haven't let Mr House live yet so I guess that one is still left.

Cheers, Sean

I haven't had a freeze or quest bug yet, but I do get this annoying stutter. Its like ever other 5secs the screen will pause, and resume. Very distracting.

I have Lost Ed-e a couple of days ago and he is nowhere to be found anymore.
Also I have the freezing problem especialy around hoover dam.
And also many other small problems, like shooting in the air in vats mode instead on the target.

Level 29, 90 hours on hardcoe mode

experiencing most of the general lagginess everyone else is. Its frozen several times, even to the point of booting me completely out of the game and I end up at my PS3 startup screen.

2 of the bigger problems Ive had (after the update):

- ED-E will sometimes get shot at in Camp McCarran so I just leave him outside

- Contreras is now a Legion member (or dressed as one) and I cannot buy from him. I can still talk to him and work through his quest, but if you access his inventory it locks up upon completing the transaction. Not a huge deal but he is the only one that Ive seen with the 12.7mm ammo. Can still get "This Machine" by turning him in but I really want that ammo!!

I travelled to The Thorn with the intent to start the quest, Bleed Me Dry. I searched the area first, and went into Red Lucy's Chamber and hacked her computer and checked everything out on it. I think this might have glitched the quest (but maybe not because I've heard a lot of other people complaining about this area). After this I spoke with Red Lucy and I can bet and create mixed fights in the arena but when the fight starts, the teams come out of their cages and stop in the middle, staring each other down indefinitely. I can also fight in the arena; only 1-3 Giant Mantises/Radscorpions/Giant Radscorpions. I can't fight any of the other opponents like Deathclaws - I'm not sure if you're supposed to able to or not, but either way I can't. I also talked to her about The Thorn, Westside, etc. but I cannot trigger the quest. Please include something to fix this glitch with the next patch.

If my last save wasn't so far back I'd just try again without hacking the computer first because that might have something to do with the glitch. People recommend saving every few minutes, and I do save as much as possible but I shouldn't have to save every three minutes, not in any game for that matter. Especially when the consequence of not saving every three minutes is a corrupt file or a broken quest that has to be patched.

I restarted the game once after 10 hours of gameplay, now I'm level 30 and I've exhausted 99% of the side quests, so I'm basically just waiting for the patch because it doesn't matter if I restart again (even though I wouldn't even consider it) it's impossible to play through the game completely without hitting a few major glitches along with a bunch of minor ones. I'm really hoping the with a couple patches I can play the game how I want without following a set of rules in order to avoid a ton of bugs because restarting again is out of the question. Just don't have the time or the will.

Ok, in the hopes that Beth/Obsidian will take these issues seriously, I'll post my experience here as well.

I bought the game on launch day and started playing straight away. I played every day averaging 5 to 10 hours per day on the game.
I got up to around 45 to 50 hours of game play ... not having experienced a single major problem up to that point ... when I experienced my first freeze/crash. From that point on, the game became unplayable as it crashes randomly in anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours of game play. The system completely locks up, preventing access to the XMB or anything else. I have let it set for over an hour in this state hoping it would unfreeze. No joy.

I have a launch date 60gb "fat" PS3 (model CEHCA01) running current (version 3.50) firmware update.
I have downloaded the F:NV patch version 1.01.

PS3 has been kept in a well ventilated shelf, dusted weekly and cleaned with compressed air monthly for four years.
No problems with any other software: have tried multiple Blu-ray games, PSN games, Blu-ray movies, PS2 and PS1 format DVD games and older DVD movies: all work fine.

Have tried: uninstalling game data and reinstalling game
Have tried: turning off all options such as autosave via in game menu
Have tried: playing while disconnected from the PSN.
Have tried: uninstalling/reinstalling while disconnected from PSN without installing the patch.
Have tried: uninstalling/reinstalling while disconnected from PSN and installing the patch.
Have tried: all of the above and starting a completely new character with completely new save data.
Have tried: restoring the PS3 from safe mode.
Have tried: rebuilding the database from safe mode.

Still having massive and completely random freezing and crashing.

I am now, as a last ditch and final effort, reformatting my PS3 just to be absolutely 100% certain that there is no corrupted game data hanging around.
I will then reinstall the game, with the patch, and attempt to create a new character and play.

I can say I was in this same boat, did everything listed here as well to no avail. I even took it a step further and broke down and bought a new slim 360gb PS3 (Since my old PS3 didn't have any problems with other games except Fallout 3 I figured I'd give it to my younger brother). Unfortunately this solved nothing. It can be hours into play or 20 minuets from a cold boot and the game will still freeze up completely and randomly. I figured I would throw this out there because there seemed to be a lot of people stating that their old FAT PS3 keeps freezing making it seem like that in and of it self could be the issue, which it is not.

At one point after recovering from a crash I went about doing other things and finally making a save file only to find out when I go to The Strip it goes from the loading screen to a black screen with sound but never fully loads. Needless to say I had to revert to a save before the crash that probably led to corrupted data and only ended up losing a few hours and a couple levels worth of questing etc.

I decided that I would also mention a couple other issues I have run into after countless hours of playing.

Weathered 10mm - When modded it glitches the gun to the point where it pretty much isn't usable

Dealing with Contreras - From the point of meeting with the man in the Pawn Shop the quest seems to be broken as certain choices which should allow the quest chain to be completed don't work correctly. You can complete the quest but the order in which you do things / and what you say don't match up.

Morales' corpse - When I got to his corpse it was actually buried half way in the ground and attempting to drag his body doesn't work even though it gives the prompt to do so. I also tried with multiple controllers to make sure it wasn't just the button on the first controller.

This will probably sound ridiculous to some of you turbo nerds but I honestly dont know. Does the game update automatically? Do I need to download the patch from the PS store? Do I need to download the patch onto a jump drive then onto my PS? I keep reading a patch has been released but I cant seem to find it anywhere which has led me to believe the damn thing just automatically updates! Secondly, is that always how it works? I dont recall even one time I saw a game updating, much less having to manually do it. Dont make fun of me turbo nerds! Please someone just tell me!

when you start the game, if your connected to the internet it will tell you right away theres an update. you will be forced to download and install it before you can continue playing the game. no work needed on your part just push a few buttons and something is bound to do something else lol. so far there has only been 1 update for new vegas

Wait a tick. Maybe The day I installed it it updated. Very possible. Which would explain why I didn't notice. Which might also explain why I havent had as many problems as everybody else. Its glitchy but has only completely crashed maybe 4 times in 40+ hours of play. Which is inexcusable but not like I have been reading for some of you guys. While im on the topic of glitches was anyone who used the science dialogue able to isolate the virus for scribe Ibsen? Far as I can tell it is impossible. some kind of glitch?

Your wire might be connected, but maybe your not on the PSN. If you don't have the automatic connection on, then when you start the game, the patch doesn't download
make sure your on the PSN then start the game.

Hey Guy

With held until now to report a bug as i expected this game would have them but not as many as i have read.

I downloaded the collectors weapons and played the game ok with a few problems, which was fine until i got to Novac and spoke to Cliff in the Big Dinosaur. I was trading some item then came out of the screen to notice a large red square surrounding my character with an exclamation mark. "Though this was odd so i went back in to the trade screen then it disappeared". But the minute i left the area and brought out the weathered pistol from the DLC i got the same issue again. Apparently it seems to be now that if the weapon has been modded which i did with a silencer its glitched and you get the red box with a white exclamation mark in it.

This is really bad and in fact it totally disrupts the first person view. Thinking the patch would solve this, i downloaded it and retied the save game, nope it didn't have an effect on it.

Also just out of curiosity is there a bug at Camp Search Light. When i approach the area the whole screen goes dark green ?

Ran across a new (to me) glitch yesterday. I was walking around Vault 21 at night and people were sleeping on the nightstands. They were laying down like they would on the bed, but they were next to the bed with their head on the nightstand. Saw about 4 of them that way.

I've had freezes, lag and crashes to XMB. The biggest bug so far is following on from the #Spoilers# Oh My Papa quest I killed Papa Khan and got the Great Khans to join with NCR. However now everytime I attempt to use a bed Great Khan normal members appear and seem to attempt to start a conversation, only for nothing to occur. The camera zooms partially as if I was entering the conversation and then breaks off. This action interrupts my characters sleep meaning I am not fully healed or well rested, and has so far occured in the Lucky 38, Freeside, Mc Carran Airbase and Novac.
