The pad needs to go inside the part with the three metal upright beams (forget ehat it's called).

If you're having trouble, find a spot to build the second part, then put the pad into it. It should snap into place.

If it's a power issue, you need at least 25 power or so. All peices need to have wires connecting them all together as well.

Thanks did all that, tried to duplicate the layout in the guide, nothing works, keeps wanting ne to access the workshop. My build is at the Brotherhood airport, built and rebuilt two or three times no success.

Tuned to classic radio to intercept the carrier wave, stood on the teleporter, tried everything I can think of, tried building at an alternate location, this is a serious bug or just not user friendly can not figure it out there must be some trick to it, just stuck in the game at this point. Can't believe it's just me no one else having this problem?

it all has to be connected on one set of wires and generators like have 2 large generators connected together then have one wire coming out from them and connect it to everything individually i cant really explain it very well but hopefully youll get what i mean

Ran into the same issue. What I did was stored everything, saved, reloaded, then put down in order:

base

structure over base

relay

control

power

Then, I made sure power went to the control station first. Then I ran power from the control station to the base, then from the control station to the structure over the base. Finally, power to the relay.

Once I did that, Sturges initiated coversation and off I went.

Not sure who the contact is a BoS, but you may need to talk to them in order to get them to the control station. They're the one who actually sends you off.

Yeah pretty much this. I did the BoS version last time and it literally did snap together. You can just keep poking it between the prongs until it turns yellow, even if its not completely in, I needed to do that with the Railroad version.

Other than that run all the power to a single pole and then take it from there to the console, antenna and the big frame. The platform doesn't need power separately.

You need 27 power. 2 for the console, 5 for the antenna and 20 for the big frame, all coming from the same point.

I couldn't get the pieces together until I got rid of the rug that was underneigh it. Once I got it together and powered it worked.

I had to rebuild the bloody thing 3 times it has to be in the wide open no roofs or walls nearby and it also must be on its own electrical grid connected neatly w/ a single wire from piece to piece. after I got it right all I did was step inside & Proctor Ingram ( BOS play through ) hit the button & away I went
