So I am building a base..

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 4:14 pm

More like you'll try to build your house for some time and never manage to do it. You get bored and sign for a guard duty. Then you tell people...

"I used to have a basket house with a shield roof, then a fox knocked it over."

I agree that the original must be the best post I've ever seen here! :′D Good luck with your construction, indeed, good luck! :)

Good thought re: different ingots. You could use all kinds of ingots to make walls of differing colors, or random ingots for a generally colorful base. Just think, a house made entirely of gold ingots! Or, if you don't want to waste the gold, but have a crapton of dwemer metal laying around, melt it down and use the ingots for a faux-gold look.

Dear lord. I sound like an interior decorator. Okay, going to go kill bunnies and dragons with an axe in an attempt to regain my masculinity. :gun:

See I wish this game was Co-op, with my Architect skills and your gift for interior decorating we could construct the most metro-sixual castle ever created! Perhaps I will even cook us a grand meal after our hard day of work, I spent a little time in the kitchen preparing meals for the fake emperor....hope you like Giant toes and vampire dust.

Lol, I'll be sitting by the fire sewing us some leather armor after a long day of mining ore and smelting you some ingots for the new house.

So, feel like a trip to Riften?

Yes...if you don't enter a cell for 30 days it will reset.

I don't think its even that long.

I kept some stuff on the Skyforge (far from where any NPC could reach it) and it was gone in about a week. I don't think 30 days have even passed in my game.

Sounds like I will have to pack a horse, NCP and myself

Me - 500+ pounds
NPC - 400+
Horse - ?

That should give me a good start.....again. I just need to find a better place to build.

Placing Ingot is like jinga if you don't place it right it falls down. I was hand placing and while I was holding one it tapped the stack I had and they all fell down..

On a lighter note I went to the Blue Palace and stacked some iron in front of a closed door, when a guard came and opened the door iron flew all over the place...It made me lol.

I think I might be cheap and find a trapper cage to stack against....now I just need to find one and figure out how many pieces I need.

It hasn't happened yet. I just have huge piles of junk and a dream. I had a basket house with a shield roof but a fox knocked it over. Now I need heavier stuff...

So, is he like the camp version of the Big Bad Wolf?

As for this cheese igloo somebody mentioned, i think i might just have to try making one of those now. I'm thinking about 240 wheels would do it. WTB Dupe Glitch.

more or less yea.

I was going to make a cheese house on the side of a mountain but quickly gave up as the cheese just rolled down a cliff.

I wish wish wish I could dupe shiz...I wish I could dupe something very light like 0.5 or 1 pound..

Just to add something productive, mammoth corpses are solid, though I didn't try to move one. A house out of mammoths would be cool.

Mammoths!!! If someone could confirm if this can be moved I am all in!

Update: 12/10/11

I was trying to earn more cash for ingot and while heading back with my mules I accidently removed my Custom marker. I had constructed 2 walls about 4 feet high with minor lag, Silver base Gold walls...The whole process was very tidies. I lost the location.

I have decided that I am going to build a short wall that blocks a major road way and become a toll bandit.

Update:12/11/11

Used that dragon sprint shout on the wall because I was bored. LOL's were had. Spent 30mins trying to get a basket on my own head and gave up.

Bricked a few door in Rivewood. When I say bricked I mean I stacked ingot in front of doors while people were out of there homes. It was not a funny as I had hoped for, people just could go home.

I need some more inspiration...

There is a video on youtube or a guy who decorated his house with the heads of the companions he slaughtered, and the headless corpses. Pretty messed up ha.

I started construction 2 days ago. I am using junk I find and dumping it at a secret location. I currently have thousands of random items all over in preparation for construction my problem is this stuff is to light, if I touch it, it moves, does anyone one know of heavier items that don't move around so much....

I now when I am close to the building site because the lag is ridicules..MATRIX!

My friend I have nothing but admiration for you. You have invented Skyrim:Lego :foodndrink:

I hat how my housecarls get all creepy and clingy. I'd totally build them a shantytown inside my houses if I thought they'd use it.

It's funny how dragonborn, epic hero who should save the world by killing the most powerful dragons just loses his time on building a house from junk like a little kid :D

But that's a good idea, I think I'll start building my house today

Awesome! So far I have 3 traps!! I am going to make the long trek to bring them all together. I need to locate an area where I can use these at a choke point, to avoid the most overpowered creature in all of Skyrim.....the fox and his lust for destroying my forts.

I may look for a small island to start construction again. That way I don't have to worry about creatures messing my shiz up.

Update: Fox's can swim....Rrrrrr

INDEED IT IS! The most challenging thing you can do in all of Skyrim!

If you are attempting this, here are a couple of tips.

1. Don't try and be perfect. It is very frustrating when you prepare to place a piece and knock down 30mins of work.
2. Find a flat area. These items WILL roll away despite being flat.
3. Don't use cheese or any other snack food.
4. Don't build on mountains..Just take my word on it.
5. Don't have a companion with you. They will knock all your crap over and NOT apologize!
6. Mule Companions and kill them once on your work site.
7. Have an idea of what you are building before you get started.
8. Fox's will go out of there way to destroy anything you build. kill them before they have a chance.
9. Build against something solid it will make things easier on you.
