Building castle?

Post » Sat Nov 13, 2010 3:29 pm

Remember in Morrowind you can have your own stronghold?

Wouldn't it be nice if we can have that in skyrim. maybe the devs can create several models for the house and you can pick the style you want.

Maybe you'll just be able to buy a house again. And probably in the end you're the king anyway.

I want more than a castle, I want to be able to build an entire city. They were gonna let us rebuild kvatch in oblivion, and IIRC you could direct the construction of that town in bloodmoon. Hopefully something like that actually makes it in skyrim.

Once you have a castle you can feed a small army and then you can get a few to be your company when you wanna take a stroll out in the wild...

Meh, lets stick with houses.
Mod castles will be superior to any vanilla castles anyway.

Something along the lines of the fighters stronghold where you can upgrade would be cool again. different upgrades for different types of character would be a nice touch. If I ended up as king it would be cool to rebuild the city but only at the end of the main quest.

It would be quite awesome if a long, epic quest chain had us building our own castle/stronghold and a town to go with it.

And that would leave us non-pc users out of luck...again. :poke:

I rather like the idea of being able to reconstruct a city/castle like we all hoped to do in Oblivion. It should, however, cost an insane amount money, caps  , coins, er gold?

um, off topic, what is? ----------> :sb:

Actually what I would really prefer is not having all those re-spawning containers and such... and lock spells so if I find random awesome house in {insert place here} and I kill the person living there... I can have that house and my crap there and decorate it to my tastes. Like what you could do with Morrowind. Maybe even go a step farther, and make it similar to fable where the house would actually be for sale after you killed the original owner. That way, you have the different options for different types of characters and you have more rp elements available to you. For example, my Frost witch.... not gonna be living in some quaint little house in town and certainly wouldn't live in a castle. However, my Viking would be comfortable in a Longhouse/ castle type home with lots of servants, display cases and ale, etc.

I am just personally not a fan of the cookie cutter houses in Oblivion... Some of them were nice mind you, but... generally, I didn't even use them. I had to hunt down a mod for a house for every character I made just because there weren't any places that fit their personalities.

On that note though, if there were to be a castle/ town/ house that you have to choose from without the killing/ picking whatever house you want, than I at least want to be able to dictate what it looks like. Kind of like the themes you could have in Fallout 3, but not as lame. And building it in game, outside of the construction set would be really awesome, especially for those people who plan to get it just for the consoles. I am going for pc so I can build whatever house I want, but if I want to play on the ps3 I don't want to be stuck with the one house in every town that isn't that great.

So.... long rambling rant= yes to castle if I can design it.

If you become the king why would you go about doing quests for guilds and other people? The only way for the player to become king is if the game actually ends at that point.

Since they most likely are not planning to end the game and allow the player to continue you will probably not become the king.

Actually that is a good question, I wonder if the people would still use Septims as currency.
