There's a height limit in settlements. It usually depends on the settlement, mind you, but there is one.

When i got off 30 minutes ago i was up to 15-18 stories tall. I was a floor or 2 over the power lines there

Sanctuary's height limit is like 16 stories. So not bad.

Really? I could only get 5-6 in sanctuary

Didn't realize there's different limits at different settlememts. Sanctuary is stuck at five stories so I assumed the others were as well.

Now I just wish they had options to put doorways inside of buildings. Not sure why they left something like that out.

Red Rocket you can go high, I didn't hit the limit on mine. Hangmans alley seems the lowest so far.
