I don't have a completely walled in settlement, so I don't know but none of the shacks I've built myself have worked against the radiation.
I'm bummed that Settlers don't seem to care much about radiation storms either, they should stop whatever they're doing and at least try to get under a roof.
It's an engine limitation thing. It's just not possible to make parts of a cell flagged as outdoors into indoors and it is also not possible to disable a weather effect in parts of cell it is enabled in.
You would think that lead to make lead lined walls would be a valuable commodity in a waste land, as well as something to prevent/treat lead poisoning.
Do radiation storms even make sense? The way the world is portrayed, radiation is only present during storms that blow the particles into the area, like dust in a dust storm. So, shouldn't the dust and it's effects linger after the storm?
Yeah, but that is what game series are for, so the games get better via improvements to the game engine, otherwise it's like COD 9000.
Yes but then if it's raining I don't see any falling while inside a building unless i'm wearing power armour.
So there must be some kind of mechanic in the engine that can tell if you are under a roof.
This man knows his onions.
Wet textures on all the floors and objects, but no actual raindrops.
This is why I want to be able to have dry interiors. Who would sleep on a soaking wet mattress anyway?
Just go to the root cellar in sanctuary hills, that's my radiation shelter.... with Piper.... and a bottle of wine.....
I have had one that lasted for at almost a day. I was exploring a building that was part of the main map, and a rad storm came in, so I went into a building I had previously cleared, and sat down and waited for 2 hours, came out and the rad storm was still about. So I went back in to the building and waited for 12 hours, came out and it was still there, went back in and waited for 2 more hours, and it was still there. At this point decided to fast travel some where else and drop some stuff off, the came back and it had finally cleared.
Which is why my girl ends up wet on the ground floor of a 4 story building when it rains.
BaggyK: When you exited and saw the storm still going, did you just immediately turn around and rezone again? Or did you stand outside for 30 seconds at least? Sometimes the storm will still be 'active' when you exit, but then clears in less than a minute.
There's a root cellar? Where? How did I not know this?
