Buildings like in Gothic games?

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 3:25 pm

I really want to be able to walk into a building and look out through the window.
Open houses with windows you can see through or break the window and gain entrance through would be great.
I guess that Oblivion's weather prevented that but hopefully they have figured that out by now.

It's been confirmed that this won't be the case.

Apparently all of Tamriel's windows are made of solid brick.

Kind of makes you wonder why the citizens of Tamriel keep putting useless windows on their buildings...

How is it possible that a game released in 2011 with a modern engine can't handle open buildings? I hope they haven't made Skyrim's engine as unoptimized as Oblivion.

Doesn't really matter if you can't look out the windows. I don't really care if you can't, Doesn't change my game experience if you can't look through windows.

I do not really care if the houses themselves are seperate cells but I do hope the towns are considered exterior world cells like Morrowind and not interior cells like Oblivion

It's unfortunately that it's not possible, would be nice, but I can live without it! There are far more important features, like radiant ai being done well, and they're working on that! Hurray!

It would be nice, especially with radiant AI to watch NPC's within their homes from outside, going from room to room doing different activities. It would be great for immersion and stealth gameplay types.

However, it just is not possible on consoles, with the amount of moveable objects etc. it is impossible.

However, mods can allow for some faking of this. Though it still is not nearly as good as it will be next gen when it does not have to be faked.
