Bullet Hole Textures From Angled Trajectories

Post » Thu Feb 28, 2013 11:45 am

All bullet holes are perfectly round. Which is fine for a shot fired perpendicular to the surface, but not for the angled trajectories.

I'v seen FPS games in the past that for example if you shoot at the ground from an angle, say.. 45° the bullet hole texture would be stretched or would be a differ texture all together, and for a more obtuse angle replace bullet holes with a scuff mark. Unless you can get real fancy, and actually create 3D holes.. Though, that would just be way to mind blowing for an already amazing graphic engine.

I am thankful that you said bullet holes, not buttholes.

I had to reread it just because I am blind.
