This assault rifle beats all.
It's the future replacement for the m4.
this gun is more powerful than the ak47 and more accurate than the m16.
It's tool less, entirely ambidextrous, multi cal bolt assemble and it's light.

We've seen so many threads about including modern guns (the ACR in particular), and I've been a supporter of this idea to a degree, but let's not get carried away here.

The ACR's design is too futuristic to be thrown into the Fallout universe. We already have a Colt CAR 15 and an AR10, that's all you should need in terms of a modern assault rifle. I'm not going to flame you or tell you to go play COD, but it would really just be unnecessary to have an ACR in the game. Fallout 3 pushed the boundaries of it's 1950's theme already, and while I'm admittedly not a big fan of the 50's culture in the Fallout universe, I can appreciate the uniqueness of it, this would just be too much.

Bottom line: some modern weapons are good for variety and roleplaying, but this would be over saturation.

Well... it's the truth really, it wouldn't be a very good idea from a developer's standpoint and most players would just throw it in the corner and never use it or whine if everyone had one.

Oh and this thread will probably get locked, just so you know, but like I said this has been discussed before in the weapons threads, so if you want to discuss it more you'll have to do it http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1091067-weapons/.

No thanks - it is completely unrealistic to have a modern Bushmasters in the game - nothing even remotely close to it existed in the 1950's. I expect the weapons in NV are all going to be very thematic and realistic to the setting - which means older-style sniper rifles, pistols and hunting or old-style assault rifles. I just don't see the benefit to the game other than to make a few Bushmaster lovers happy - there would be no benefit for the rest of us, and no real reason to add it into the game.

Besides, by this time I'm sure the weapons we are going to get have all been decided at this point, and they will be into balancing and tweaking them. I recall many tweets from JESawyer and Chris Avellone months ago hinting and commenting about weapon balance - it would have been before then that such requests had a real chance of making it in the game. By this time, we're 6? months away from release - and I highly doubt they are pondering at this point what weapons to put in the game. Its more likely they are focused like laser beams at getting the cells created (level design), the Quests/Storylines added in and models/textures by the hundreds being made to fill in the details.

My suggestion is that if you really want a Bushmaster, then make sure to get the PC version and be among the first on the modding scene with requests for them to be added. I can Easily see a Bushmaster getting added shortly after the CS is released (assuming it is).

Cheers,

Miax

No, for reasons that have been comprehensively thrashed out over the last half dozen similar threads.

I agree with this statement. How many threads full of "NO" does it take to stop these ideas :(

No idea, but it only takes one moderator to say "use the weapons thread please, there is no need for a separate topic on whatever weapon comes to mind."
