Davian gave a quick chuckle as the Argonian recoiled in shock, but not so much as to imply malice. "I do not believe I've ever seen you before, much less mistreated you in any manner that would provoke you to assault me,' he said nonchalantly, hoping to settle the business quickly so he could get on his way to the nearest town. He didn't really expect the Argonian to answer his question, as all he really meant by it was to throw the assailant off his guard for the Khajiit Breton's amusemant. Not noticing commoners, even exotic ones, was common for him, as Wayrest had weirder commoners than any other kingdom or district he was aware of.

Angorion accepted the 25 gold for the longsword and hurried outside. He wanted to make sure he was traveling in a group. He felt much safer that way. As he pushed open the door, he was struck by the storm. Angorion gritted his teeth and stepped out into the rain. He could just see Laurenne and Kraling off in the distance walking around the corner of a building. He hurried to catch up to them as they were easily the two he liked the most.

He rounded the corner and yelled out "Wait! Can I travel with you?"

"Wait! Ca......vel wi....ou?"

Most of the message was lost in the pouring rain. Laurenne heard enough however for her stop. The voice made her jump slightly and for a second she thought it was Ghost coming back to join them. When she turned however it was Angorion, not Ghost who was wading after them through the mud.
He was ok...
Laurenne touched Kraling's arm gently, alerting him to the presence of the High Elf.
"We should wait, he was ok at the Tradehouse and well... the more the merrier"
The Breton shivered where she stood and hugged herself. The rain was biting through the thin cloth of the prisoners clothing and she was freezing.
Hurry up...

OOC:I am going to be away for the rest of January :ahhh: what's the deal with control over my character?

Seyda Neen, Outskirts

IC: Angorion saw them stop and dashed through the rain to catch up to the Nord and the Breton. He then realised how unfit he was when he was puffed after the short sprint.

"Sorry to stop you. I was held up while buying a weapon," Angorion said after catching his breath. "The filthy Argonian stole a sword from Arrille."

after a short while, Angorion asked "so is it alright if I travel with you for now?"

"I don't see a problem with it." Kraling said. "After all, none of us know much about this place, so it'd be safer in a large group."

Kraling figured three would be enough to deter smaller predators, both beastly and human, but he also figured that he didn't know just how "smal" a small predator on this Gods-forsaken island was. He didn't know much about Angorion, but he certainly didn't seem like a blood-frenzied killer. Of course, appearances could be decieving but as it stood, he was good with it.

"We're probably goint to take a slightly longer route." kraling said. "Hopefully nothing significant."

Laurenne grinned at the high elf;
"Welcome to the team"
She said, backing up Kraling's earlier assertions. She shivered again, it really was cold out here in freezing rain...
"Brrr, lets get going before I freeze to death!"
she said, starting down the path,
the tree cover should help
she thought, wondering how long before the downpour ceased.

"Good, take this sword" Kalthar stated as he threw to him the Chitin shortsword from the dead bandit. "Now follow me, and don't lose it" he turned to the other slaves "You two!" he pointed at them "Get back to the cave entrance and wait there, quick!". Kalthar waited for the two slaves to run and then indicated to the Khajiit to follow after him.

Sprinting as fast as he could he ran back to the narrow passage near the entrance and put his back to the wall at the corner leading back to the chamber. "Now listen, wait till they enter this passage and get close. I will charge the closest one, surprising them, while you get the other. No need to kill him though, just make sure he don't kill you so that I have enough time to lob his head off after I killed the other guy. Got it?" he spoke fast and hoped that the Khajiit got the jist of it. Kalthar hoped that his plan would work, as basic as it was. It was just a simple ambush he learnt years ago from his mercenary days. Simply lure a ranged opponent into narrow confines; forcing them to go melee which in most cases they wouldn't be any good with, especially when fighting an expert like Kalthar.

The khajjit nodded and took up a nervous postion where Kalthar had pointed.

Down below the bandits were hesitant. Rather than facing a group of unarmed and emaciated slaves, they were now chasing a group lead by well build Nord who obviously pretty strong. Their hesitation didn't last long however as they saw the group speeding to the exit, both followed as fast as they could, it was their income on the line afterall...

Kalthar saw the nervousness in the Khajiits eyes and how he may be more of a liability than a help. In either case he didn't have a choice so he would have to to put up with it for now. If he died, he died in battle which was the best way to go for the Khajiit. But hopefully it would not come to that this day. Hearing the footsteps getting closer made Kalthars adrenaline pump again and he closed his eyes to concentare better. They were running, which meant that they weren't being cautious Amateurs he thought.

Opening his eyes he looked at the Khajiit who looked back. "On the count of three attack" he whispered "One,two,Three!" he shouted and lunged around the corner swinging his blade in the air, hoping to decapacitate whoever was in the lead.

Mulvisie Othril, stepped round the corner first, she'd run ahead of the mage who needed time and space to let off his spells. The blade came out of nowhere and the swing was well placed, the swing grazed the top of her back as she turned her run into a roll. She didn't however have time to control it and she hit the opposit wall, rather than the sword blade. She recovered quickly however and managed to fling a throwing at the Nord's stomach, trying to delay him as she rose. her partner Melar had slower reactions and it took him half a second to react as the big Nord came into view, enough time for a determined khajjiti to pounce at him. the thing's blow crippled his arm before he managed to summon a touch spell to deal with the cat which quickly crisped under his fire spell. Melar advanced on the Nord, one armed now with Tanisie's blade still buried in in his shoulder.

"Yeah, let's get going." Kraling said. Then, making conversation, he asked, "so what exactly can you two do? I'm fair with a saber, but pretty rusty."

He started walking. He was uncomfortable and wet to the bone, but he tried his best to ignore it. he had always heard that Morrowind was all Ash Desert, but this was quite a bit of rain.

Kalthar let out a cry of pain as the knife dug into his left shoulder, causing a small trickle of blood to flow out. He was however trained enough not to let this hinder him and he managed to pull the knife out without much hassle. He was however still injured and his left arm was weaker than before. Seeing that the Khajiit was down didn't do much to hurt the Nords confidence as he knew that he wouldn't last. However it was enough to grant him time to recover from the blade.

Although he was outnumbered, he still had the advantage of a blade and the skill to wield it. Quickly weighing up his odds he decided that the mage was most dangerous with his magic. Raising his blade up and adopting his typical fighting stance he slowly approached him, keeping his blade in front of him. He was now a few feet away and it was time to act before the rogue like bandit could react. Kalthar feigned an overhead swipe before pulling back and lunging at his chest, hoping to trick the mage into ducking which would mean a perfect hit on his body.

Melar hesitated at the feint, he wasn't much of a fighter, especially with the blinding pain in his shoulder stopping him from concentrating. He acted exactly as expected, collapsing as the balde was buried in his cheest up to the hilt. Mulvisie on the other hand was much more competant and had righted herself and was flinging another star as Kalthar ran Melar through. Quickly she a second star before drawing a dagger at waist and making ready to defend herself against the brutal invader.
"Your Cat friend is dead nord, how does that make ya feel? personally I don't give a damn about my 'partners' look... this fight isn't going to end for a while, hows about you just lower that blunt stick of yours before I add another hole to your body?"
The Elf was mostly prevaricating, she would have the upper hand when the Nord came down from his adrenaline high, he'd feel those blows and it should make the fight easier.

The blade ran the Elf through and his limp body fell to the floor as the Nord withdrew his sword. Just as he done so he felt a sharp pain in his back causing him to stumble forwards slightly. Another flow of blood trickled out causing his back to stain with the blood of his two wounds. The pain was beginning to make him angry and he felt the bloodlust and rage build up as he turned to face his final foe with anger. He seen the puny knife in her hand and laughed which brought his anger down slightly "Wheres your throwing stars now Dunmer? All you have is that little bread cutter, put it down and I will offer you a chance of survival"

Kalthar meant what he said to some extent, he wasn't a murderer and would offer her her life but he watched carefully, one false move and he would run her through with his bloodied blade. He was wounded from the knives in his left shoulder and upper back which would hinder his fighting but wasn't enough to kill him or gravely injure him. In either case he knew that he could slay the Dunmer quick and easy without much damage to his self.

OOC just so that you can collect your loot without me (I'm going for a bit)
The cave as a whole contains 40 more septims, several suspicious looking bottles that, when you try the contents make the world flash and go all runny. some more moon sugar, a few low quality weapons (short blade and mace) A subtantial amount of local alcohol.

Addamasartus cave, Seyda Neen Outskirts

Mulvisie, hesitated wondering what she could do to hold up the fight for longer, the Nord seemed to be starting to feel her stars,
"Ok"
she said loudly,
He would never let me live anyway..
She bent over and switched the knife to her left hand as though was to put it down. Instead hev freed right hand went to he belt flinging another quick star as she leapt, stabbing wildly at the Nord in a desperate attempt to kill him.

OOC: Okay, oh and how far are you away from the cave, Laurenne and the others I mean? So that my character can catch up

Addamasartus cave, Seyda Neen Outskirts

Watching the Dunmer carefully, Kalthar planned ahead of her and quickly side stepped away when she threw the star. He didn't get away uninjured however and it grazed his right shoulder, cutting it before sticking in the wall far behind him.

His enemy started stabbing wildy at him, obviously desperate to end the fight. This forced him to keep moving back before using his acrobatic skills to side step her strike and slice at her side before rolling behind her and lunging his blade at her back.

"well I was in training to become a Battlemage before I was imprisoned so I have been taught to wield a long blade. I was also taught how to use heavy armor but I have been in captivity for so long that I doubt I could wear a full suit of armor." Angorion responded to Kraling as they started walking. Mulvisie went down quickly and without a fuss, the blade buried in her back. The two remaining slaves stood in silence, hushed by both the prospect of their freedom and of the death of their friend. The pair approached their Nordic saviour,
"There's nothing we can give you but... thankyou. Please trust me, tell us your name and free us and we will repay you"
The emaciated Argonians spoke seriously to the Nord though it was obvious they wanted to leave.

"Well, me next I guess"
Laurenne said, without much enthusiasm.
"Most people would call me a mage. I prefer to think of my self as a healer. I can't do any offensive magic..."
The conversation reminded her of her previous life, how her father had taught her to heal and how she'd stood out as the only restoration specialist in Bravil, whilst the other students made poisons or practiced fireballs, she would out in the streets, curing colds or gathering ingredients for healing potions. She'd enjoyed helping the townspeople immensely though she always felt envious watching others practice far more impressive magic.

There was a strong silence as the last bandit fell lifelessly to the floor with the Nords blade buried deeply within her back. Kalthar stood there for a moment, half expecting her to suddenly jump up and throw another one of her damn throwing stars at him...but she didn't. He grabbed the hilt of his blade and pulled it out with a gush of blood following and leaving a pool on the floor all around the dead body. Sighing he slumped to the floor and began to pull out the last star from his back and let out a cry of pain as it was removed, leaving a sudden rush of pain that echoed throughout his body. Shouldn't hurt me too badly, I'm a Nord after all! he thought to himself as he pushed himself up and rubbed off what blood he could on the cavern wall and holstered his blade by his side.

The two remaining slaves approached him which startled the Nord for a second as he forgot all about them.

"There's nothing we can give you but... thank you. Please trust me, tell us your name and free us and we will repay you" they both spoke to him.

Kalthar felt sympathy for the two Argonians, something he had not felt for a long time. Although he didn't think it before, he felt sorry for the loss of the Khajiit who died in battle.
"I'm sorry for.....the loss of your friend. He fell in battle, the best way to go, bravely and couragously" he felt in his pocket and found the strange key from before "I think this key will free you" he said and walked over to the slaves shackles and proceeded to unlock the braces. "The names Kalthar"

He didn't intend to find or free any slaves here. In fact he didn't know what to find in the cave or why he even entered. It was really just his curius side that took him in here to explore. Although he was a mercenary and accustumed to recieveing rewards for whatever he did, here he did not want one. Perhaps it was just his kind side showing through or maybe just his sympathy for these poor slaves whose lives were ruined, he did not know. "I don't ask for anything in return. Instead I think you should take these" he said as he passed the fallen Khajiits blade and the dead slavers dagger to the two freed men. "Just to protect yourselves, thats all. I have no use for them"

No idea? He knows exactly what he did! That pompous idiot
Ghost tensed as though about to strike the noble, he was sorely tempted though he checked himself, well aware that was in plain view and near to town to boot.
Revenge shall come later...
Aloud he said, in an unconvincing tone;
"I'm sorry, I seem to have mistaken you for another Kahjjit, who swindled me out of some money"
With that he began to walk away, he'd follow the noble later, at a distance.
He'll pay yet...

IC:

"A healer and a battlemage, and a swordsman makes three." Kraling said. "Well, between the three of us we should be able to get to Balmora alive."

Kraling looked down the road, how the trees seemed to sag under their own weight, and couldn't help but think how depressing the whole landscape was. All the colors seemed muted, somehow, as though the entire land carried a deep dispair with it. And, having seen the port town, he couldn't blame it very much.

"I don't ask for anything in return. Instead I think you should take these. Just to protect yourselves, thats all. I have no use for them"

The pair of Argonians took the blades, massaging their wrists as if to make sure that the cuffs wouldn't suddenly magically reappear. One of them, a male nodded at the gesture, repeating Kalthar's name to himself, then he looked the nord in the eye and said,
"We shall remember you. Thankyou."
With that he turned and, putting his arm around the female, led her towards the light of the cave exit.

Bitter Coast Region
The wind rushed past Tarhiel as he plummeted towards the distant earth. He regretted testing the scroll,
I don't understand people who are afraid of heights... I think however that I'm deathly afraid of depths.
His robe whipped up into his face and he spluttered, letting go of the pack containing the book and the scrolls. The ground was getting far closer now, Tarhiel wondered how long it would take for people to find his corpse and whether his fellows would recieve news of his untimely death. As the ground came close, he filled his lungs one last time a let out a yelp as he smashed into the ground, his corpse further battered by the arrival of the pack and his bright yellow fur hat.
